why don't they make comfort access standard if you can choose it as a no charge option?

What sucks is the standard blue ///M callipers - it's an eye sore for some exterior/interior colour combinations. For example, having chosen Black Sapphire Metallic/Alpine White with Sakhir Orange, the blue callipers really ruin the look. Wish BMW offered the option of picking one of the other M colours.

I think the configurator is still being worked on. The model that is being passed as paramameter is that for a Model 135 <-- see the end of the URL where the NAModelCode is set to 135G.

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ModelCode=135G

So guys, just consider that this configurator is not final but something to use to experiment with the ones preferred options.

Tint the windows so you can't see the sakhir orange

I think individual interior is a morph between full and extended.

For example look at this pic - if it were full leather the bottom of the door would be leather. But if it were extended, the glove box would not be in leather.

same here

I love how they oh so conveniently forgot to show the gas guzzler tax that you will be stiffed with. They don't show it on the m6 conv or the m5 when both will get it.

Although its only a $500 option on 1 and 3 series (including X3) and its a $1000 option on 5 series and up (including X5), don't really understand that! So BMW is making pure $500 extra profit on 5 series and above buyers? You can't tell me the technology cost more on those cars

strange how other options are priced the same as lower models (heads up display, larger wheels, lane warnings...) but this feature (which is addicting, once you have it you won't want a car without it) is so much more.

yeah Mercedes always shows that when you configure their cars (well AMG microsite since those are the ones that used to have the tax). BMW should show it since its mandatory in all US states and its the US website...

The gas guzzler taxes for the M5 and M6 have not been finalized yet, that's why they don't appear in the configurator.

Try configuring a 7 series on the BMWUSA website and the gas guzzler tax will show up.

Seems like a no brainer.

Agree. The blue calipers eliminate certain exterior colors all together. Then add interior color into the mix, the caliper color becomes a problem.

i imagine bmwusa.com does not have this up specifically because it's still in beta-testing and only kooks like us who plug in model code into the url can even get to this page.

interior photos and options such as the rear entertainment system aren't up yet either.

without the full options and photos, might as well stare at the catalog until this link is a full go.
