Air Conditioner issues

Hello all,

I was wondering if I can get some advise or see if any one has had a similar issue with their M5

This weekend my AC started acting up, the vents on the passenger side front and rear started blowing warm air while the vents on the drivers side we blowing cooler yet still warm air.

The snow flake button was on, the temperature on both sides were set to the lowest and the little coloured squares on the centre dash were both on blue.

I am taking the car to the dealership on the 3rd as I don't have time this weekend. Has anyone experience this failure before? Is this the condenser failure these cars are known for

Thank you for any help

Mine did this when I purchased it. Unfortunately in my case the refrigerant was low....which in turn meant I had a condensor leak.
That's pretty common when the refridgerant gets low on these.

Did they have to replace the condensor or a simple re-fill of refrigerant fix it

Mine had the same issue. Had to replace cracked lines. The car was under warranty and they covered it.

had similar issue 3 years ago

condenser had a leak. back then it took over 6 weeks to get the part. hopefully they have produced enough to prevent such a back log.

good luck

Initially I filled a half can of the over the counter R134 in. It lasted a couple weeks....then I had to replace the condensor...pain in the butt job...to about 90% I would say your condensor took a hit

Guys one thing that helps is to make sure you run your AC even in the winter time , at times to keep the seals and hoses lubricated so you wont get dry rot and leaks.

I saw something similar a few months ago. I think that in these situations, the surest way is to go to a specialist. I'm more than sure that marvellous.sg is the right person to help you with this question. As far as air conditioners are concerned, this service does a great job with problems and malfunctions of these devices. That's why I went to them when I needed it. Now my air conditioner is completely repaired and working correctly. I think you should contact them to fix this problem.

Just had this happen over the weekend. Randomly warm air only. I can hear compressor try to kick on then off. Will be checking for leak, as i suppose it will be the condenser as well. Same symptoms as expressed in other threads, hissing noise followed by warm air only.

usually if it kicks on and then back off quickly, it is because of low refrigerant charge. There is a suction pressure switch that will kick off the compressor is the suction pressure is too low. I would have to check the circuit diagram later to confirm whether the S63 uses that system.
The refrigerant pressure can easily be checked at the refrigerant fill port.

Yes, this is why i feel its a leak as well. It kicks on briefly and off right away as you described. I did noticed it has been gradually cooling less and less over past month, so it does seem to point to a slow leak. I might try and inject some dye into it to confirm 100%
