I wound up running 265/35/20 on all four rims
Slight stretch on the rear but it's fine
Or you can run 255/285 front and rear and Michelin alpin pa4 are amazing

Ideally you would want a thinner tire than stock for winter. Should work out cost difference on just buying a second set of cheaper rims and snows. Keeps the OEM away from the snow and salt and less of a chance for a shop to mess up the rims! I'm OCD about my car and I always wonder.. what are they going to mess up now..? lol

That is correct, many of us can't find 265/295 oem sizes so we run 1 size smaller front and rear

I wound up doing 265/35/20 front and rear on the oem staggered 20's cause nobody in NY had the rear 285/30/20 winter tires

I run Michelin Alpins 245 front and 295 rear. They fit the stock 20" wheels fine.

Out of interest what pressures are you running?

I run stock pressure on my Alpins.

Here are a couple of pix with the Alpins installed on the stock 343M's. They do good in the snow, although I still feel that running the OEM 19" 408M winter wheel setup would be a little better for traction.

You can see how crazy wide the 295 Alpin tire is. They are actually designed as a Porsche snow tire, but luckily fit our stock wheels fine too.

I got mine from www.mytyres.co.uk I tracked them over and the rears came from Germany and the fronts came from Romania.

Took 10 days to get both sets.

Studded is the way to go on RWD. I tracked blizzak and non studded snow tires and they just didn't cut it like how the studs do.

Now that I've moved back to San Diego, I don't need my winter Michelin Alpins 20" tires anymore. I was going to wait until next winter season to try to sell them when demand will be higher, but if someone wants to take them off my hands I can ship them anywhere in the USA. They have about 6,000 miles on them and still have a ton of tread left on them. If anyone is interested I can take pictures at your request. Thanks!

these are the tires you were running when you did that cross country trip earlier in the year? Whats the thread depth and how much you looking to sell? are you selling the wheels and tires or just the tires?
