21" P40SC Refinish color opinions needed...

Guys and Gals,

I just picked up a set of 21" HREs and the are currently Red. I have a MCB car so red is not an option for me. So off they go to HRE for some refinishing. I was going to go Satin Black but maybe considering gloss silver.

The trouble is that I am not sure how long I will keep the MCB car and tend to swap leases pretty frequently.

Thoughts on color for MCB that would also work with White and or Space Grey?

Tom

Gloss charcoal. Very similar color/setup

Black will kill he look. Or you can go tinted brush clear.

I would no doubt go gloss charcoal this color will also work really well on white.

Space gray is boring so I would so no color Works on it lol

I would do matte gunmetal. Not quite black so it won't lose the lines of the face, yet dark enough to look mean/aggressive.

Here's my textured matte gunmetal... Looks almost black lol.

It looks lighter in person.

Rock the red for now, then refinish it in a few months, it'll feel like you got new rims twice.

Gunmetal always looks lighter than that to me. I like that look.

They are the perfect wheel...just not the perfect color.

Maybe...going to put them on half the car and see. Just really not my style.

Thanks for the thoughts guys...I really like the idea of matte bronze, but again, I think i prefer a more traditional color...to be continued. I am actually thinking about just putting them back on the market...

If you can get someone to buy the red ones. I would try to buy a s101 set in gloss charcoal. Your car would be one of the top on the forums if filled in with just some IND bits. MCB is beautiful

Go with some color. I'm tired of everyone doing black and dark grey wheels, regardless of whether they're gloss, matte or satin. Plus, that trend is WAY past it's peak, as evidenced by the fact that every car company offers black and/or dark grey as an option. I'm personally not a fan of red wheels on a blue car, but I like the fact that it's something different. Silver always looks nice...but not terribly creative. I think a matte/satin bronze or copper would look cool. Of course, you may want to take my opinion with a grain of salt based on the responses I got to the pics I posted yesterday of my recent wheel finish choice.

21" vs 20"

I have 2014 M5 CP
I am thinking of getting a set of 21" wheels? what tire sizes are you using and how is the drive with 21" compared to the original 20"

Thanks

I have Brushed Tinted Clear on my HRE P40S and they look awesome. Here is a pic of them on my E60 for reference. (Click the pic to zoom in)

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/att...edit5_wl-2.jpg

HRE came out with a darker version about a year and half ago called Brushed Dark Clear.

Honestly I would just do Brushed Clear for your car. That finish is classic and looks great on anything! Good since you mentioned you swap leases frequently.

I remember when people would post that black was "played out" and that was years ago--- and yet the look still sells but there are good points as to why black would not be the best choice especially on an MCB car.

I like my double tinted brush (I think that's the name) on my M5 (sold a while back) and they would look tremendous on the MCB.

I like the brushed look but they charge more for it. I do like the idea of satin bronze!

Brushed titanium is another attractive option with MCB. That's what my combo was before I coated my wheels.
