Any issues with trunk closing

Has anyone here had issues with their trunk closing? On a few occaisions I have closed the trunk, only to have it beep and re-open. I've cleared out any obstructions but it will still happen once in a while, not sure if it has to do with the bumpers, the key fob, the latch or whatever.

Any thoughts?

i have had the same issue even when nothing is blocking the trunk sometimes. Its extremely rare when it happens but it's super annoying.

Spare key is certainly a good guess
Also any straps from backpacks just slightly obstructing the trunk closing area will cause the lid
to pop open again (or anything hitting the trunk lid from inside while the lid is closing .
Comfort access is unlikely the culprit as the system is pretty complex and works with two sensors, but one never knows . I could see the trunk pop open again if by accident you moved your foot forward while the trunk is closing .
Have you tried to isolate it whether it only happens with the FOB or also with the button in the trunk lid ?

I cant replicate it now - although it happened three times last night and I believe with the fob and the button. I def wasnt standing close enough to trigger the sensor underneath.

I think that happens if you push the button to close the trunk and then walk away from the vehicle such that the car senses the fob is out of reach.

Try seeing if you can reproduce it by walking away as trunk is closing.

Will try tonight - I may have done that. What is the logic of that? Or is it a glitch?

This is the answer. It has happened to me and have replicated it.

for me it was the comfot access. my foot is under the diffuser and its detecting it as i walk away during trunk closing. it wil then open up again with the double beep. but always stand clear of trunk before closing and it will not happen anymore.

I am with Barry on this one. Seems if you hit the lock button and walk away too fast, this will happen. Now that if you for an extra couple seconds, wait until the trunk is 1/2 way closed, it won't re-open.

Not had your problem but I can't seem to make the "move your foot under the bumper" trick work to open the trunk? What am I doing wrong?

I hav trouble sometimes too. When I do a controlled kick under the car and remove, it works more often than not. I think key is not to leave it there and wave it around - dont do the hokey pokey.

U look like an idiot though standing there with bags and kicking over and over again...

Good one. I guess I was indeed doing the hokey pokey. Will try the kick next time. Thanks
