In stock form unless they know what it is, doesn't get much attention.

After I've modified with all my MSR goodies and carbon fiber, I get followed around by groupies taking pictures and women throwing their panties through the window.

Kidding on the panties but it does get attention. In Dallas I don't get stopped as much, just followed, thumbs up, pictures. Etc.

In Houston, people stop me all the time or try to race. Women know what it is once it stands out from the rest of the 5 series.

BTW ... She ain't wearing no panties.

Garage List
I see an M3, M4 and an M5 on a daily basis. Not only that but everyone has the M Sport package for their 3,4 and 5 series. So, when any of them drive by no one notices or understands the significance of the M badge. Only the enthusiast understand. The cars that do get attention are the Tesla Model S and X. I just saw a Skyline R34 GTR right hand drive at a car wash and no one noticed the car except me...

I've had my BSM M5 for a couple of months now and I get quite less attention and comments about the M5 than I did from my Lexus GS F Sport lowered on Vossens.

I do seem to get thumbs up from other M, CTS-V, and AMG drivers, but I'm thinking the majority of people in Dallas just think it's another black regular BMW that are a dime a dozen around here.

Here is a pic of the Lexus that gets more comments. I guess the Lexus is a little flashier, but the M5 is a hell of a lot more fun to drive and that's all I care about.

And then the M5....

People don't really notice the difference until I start driving like every asshat BMW driver and start cutting people off, changing lanes without indicating, throwing up the finger, occasionally, listening to loud electronic music or using my laser guided cruise missiles to disseminate the peasants in front of me... ... Jk..

In SoCal there are quite a few people that recognize the car since we have a huge car scene and m cars are super popular in the valley.. Like seriously does every kid nowadays have a frigging m3?!?!?

What the holy f**k hahahah

Two weeks into owning mine and not a single head turn or stop light stare. The C7 corvette stingray I had turned heads more in one block than the M5 in two weeks.

Corvette will always be an iconic car. Z06 C7 breaks necks and drops panties.

Get an exhaust in that M5. They'll know it's not your average 5 series

Do the vast majority of you have stock m5's or something? I break necks everywhere I go ESPECIALLY when my MSR intakes blow off. A couple posts up did someone really say their Lexus got more attention then their m5?

In my area M cars aren't that common and they don't garner too much attention outside of the 'oh, there's another bmw'.

hahaha ... and the M4 is FBO with Downpipes and exhaust so he is pretty loud.

I have the MSR exhaust and Downpipes. It's a prototype and I think George is about to release it this month. Hit him up for the details. I'm not lying when I say this is the best sounding exhaust for this car. The interior noise is very minimal including drone.

Yep. I said it and it's true. I think in the DFW area, there is an over-saturation of BMWs and your average Joe doesn't know the difference between a 535i and a M5.

Again, doesn't really bother me....it is what it is and I didn't buy the M5 to get compliments.

Well if it makes you feel any better I think your m5 is much better looking than your Lexus

Yeh. Exhaust is on the eventual to-do list. I just did the cheap flapper mod to get a little louder sound. Lots of good exhaust options out there but not a single one I've heard (online) sounds anywhere like the roar of the Chevy Small Block V8 that I was driving a few weeks back. I know it's a different car all together but god Chevy has some great exhausts from the factory...

My Camaro ZL1 was nasty ... My favorite factory exhaust sound is the new Z06 and GT350.

I was thinking the same thing??

I get tons of looks/ thumbs up wherever I go. I have Mesiterchaft exhaust with RPI catless downpipes so that helps get peoples attention.

Anyone that knows a little about cars can tell that a lowered M5 looks way more aggressive than your average 5 series.

Get an aggressive Cf Lip, Diffuser, exhaust and some lowering springs to start,

Anthony

The beast looks sick! Love the wheels.

What are you lowered on?

That stance is 100

My Monte Carlo Blue gets a LOT of attention here in NYC. Plenty of people taking cell phone pics. Wife thinks it is weird and creepy at times lol. I am used to it. My old Alpine White/Indy red E60 M5 and my old Imola Red E46 M3 used to get similar attention.
