Have you had something or someone really heavy in the seat lately? or have you kneeled with your knee on the seat. It sounds like the sensor in the seat bottom my be damaged or faulty and it thinks there is someone sitting in the seat. That is why you have to click the seatbelt to get it to stop.

Remove whatever you have on the passenger seat !
I had that issue with my E70 a loooootttt. Now with my GL ( merc ) no issues like that BMW are very sensitive, even with a small laptop.... |
