I have a 2014 M5 on order but decided against the CP.

Didn't want the lower suspension as I plan to use thru all-seasons and lots of city driving. Exhaust is basically the same with only slightly better sound, and I'll never use the extra 15 HP. Don't like the CP wheels either so am thinking of putting the $7,300 into some HRE S101's.

Current M5 is an awesome machine. From my vantage point, the best changes for 2014 are the head lights, steering wheel and new grill.

Very cool. I will be selling my HRE 101s! :-) They are MINT. PM me if you want them.

Sort of agree. BMW has offered a comp pack on the M3 as an option for a long time. They are just bringing the option to the M5/6. I do think they should have brought it out at the time of the initial release of the car so those that did want the options could have chosen to have them and not be left having to ponder trading their cars to get them or convincing themselves that they don't need/want it. That is bs.

This is typical for BMW. Rarely is the competition package a launch option. It's added to later years.. and it always works to get some customers to upgrade, as well as to keep things interesting for new customers that haven't taken the plunge yet. I'm actually surprised they've added a competition package so early in the lifecycle.

Yeah I know it is typical and like I have said before, BMW is very smart in their marketing strategies but it still stinks :-)

Agreed it is unfortunate and kind of insulting to those that jumped 1st but this generation of M5 has not been without endless controversy! Now I will hold on for dear life as my 2013 depreciates like a massive iron anchor - straight to the bottom of the ocean .

I'm planning to upgrade to the LCI with competition package, and I have mixed emotions about it :-(

I'm planning to upgrade my 2013 F10 M5 by driving it more, doing more burnouts, more highspeed flybys, cutting off more Prius's/Pri'i and doing more tunnel accelerations.

I've got that sinking feeling too. Supposedly, mine has already depreciated 30% in one year.

You just have to quit "thinking" man-lol! You just sort of walk around "numb" and let go of all rational thinking. Just start dreaming of all the mods you can start doing on the new ride. Trust me, it helps you sleep-hahahahahaha!

Oh, and Xanax helps (with a swig of Jack Daniels)
