Get RPIM5 his car - Online Petition
Since BMW supposedly watches these boards lets start an online petition to get RPIM5 (Dave) and KrispyKreme their M5's. This long wait is a travesty!
BMWNA --> Please do the right thing and get Dave and KrispyKreme their cars already! EDIT: Adding KrispyKreme to the list now as well! Last edited by cmhsam; 11-11-2012 at 06:33 PM.. |

Haha Sam! Thanks bro! Your too kind!
I'm not the only one still waiting though. There's still Sir KrispyKreme too. Both of our cars were damaged somehow during shipment. My front bumper was damaged and Krispy's rear bumper was damaged. Hmmm... BMW won't say though. Latest word is that mine will hopefully be released from the VDC on Monday and Krispy's will be released on Tuesday after both of our damages are repaired. But yeah thanks for the petition though. They technically owe us our cars by next Friday or they will be in breach of contract. And don't worry gents I already have my lawyer on speed dial. I will post an update here when I hear something tomorrow. But yeah, today is day 185 since I actually put in my order for the car. Just wish I had gotten to enjoy this weekend with it as I have been given a 4 day weekend from the military. On the upside, I just saw the new James Bond movie, Skyfall. It's pretty awesome! Hope you guys get to catch it this week.

I just notified the authorities. Hopefully we'll get a call back from the inspector soon.
Here's the ad I posted in the newspaper. Lost: 2013 F10 M5 Last Seen: LOGINOUT. Munich, Germany Date Last Seen: Sept 7th 2012. Reward: $10,000. Hello, I lost my beloved M5. She has a black collar on her and inscribed on the inside is the name Mika. She likes to wag her tail when you turn her DSC off. She gets excited when you say the word Nurburgring around her and likes it when you give her 100 Octane to drink. She's a good girl, and I just want her back in my arms. I hope that I get her back soon.

Yeah BMW really seems to be stacking incompetence here. I think the biggest issue is they don't prioritize tourist cars for shipping at port of exit. If they did that they would have time to recover mistakes later on.
It shouldn't be hard for them to do it. It is a small percentage of cars and it is the right thing to do. Otherwise they are optimizing their inventory turns at the expense of their customers asset utilization.

That ad is cool! Email it to Jalopnik and see of it goes viral...
Offer a bonus reward for info that leads to the successful prosecution of the BMW handler that lost her.

Whole situation sucks. I feel bad since Dave hooked me up with the cool ED deal.
Our M5s aren't safe anywhere: two days after driving home from Santa Barbara, some idiot tried to break in to the car while parked in a multi-story garage by prying into the passenger window. The glass is damaged but not broken, but some dents/scratches and bent up trim pieces. $3000K of damage. |

the guys who unload the cars at dock have been known to damage quite a few cars. My Z4 35is was damaged and held for over a month after they destroyed my front bumper. PM if you want the contacts. The VPC is outsourced and not BMW if you haven't figured it out already.

While talking to the cops about the incident described above, they said that these guys do this and go right to the owner's manual. Many people leave their valet key "hidden" in there. They just drive the car away if they find it. Otherwise they move on to the next target.

Hopefully will be able to get it within the next couple of days. The truck still has to fill up first though.

But BMW is responsible for all of the actions of its subcontractors. As for the drivers, for the west coast VPC the drive from the dock gates to the VPC is about 1 1/4 miles down a straight street. The only turns are a right at the corner where the VPC is and a left into one of the gates behind the VPC buildings. If any driver is caught exceeding the speed limit (40 MPH if I remember correctly) or otherwise abusing a car they are fired. The subcontact company is responsible for paying the cost of repairs caused by its drivers. The same is true for Waggoners once the car is turned over to them. |
