Wow! That would drive me insane. Spend a $100,000 and you gotta act like you're in a strip club. See but no touch.

I'm guessing the QC was to figure out what exactly happened to his car and try to prevent it from happening again to anyone else. At that point they found a major problem and now we're here. QC can be and is often times on a product that has had a failure.

When the NJ chapter did a tour of the Bayonne NJ VDC in March there was a 550 with it's engine out...

This apparently is not an M5 only issue.

Some saw it coming. On Wednesday I was talking to Matt Russell at O'fest and he mentioned they have had a few catastrophic failures on cars right out of the gate but they were putting it down to abuse and not following the run in quidelines, while still trying to determine the cause.

Looks like they found it.

I just called my CA... So far he has no update on my car for a recall, but he has another M5 at the show room and is effected by the recall. He told me BMW NA will be calling everyone who are effected. If he has further updates related to my car he will call me and make arrangements for the loaner car..... So let's see.

This is really BS...

You cant compare a car that cost 50k-70k with a car that cost 100k+.

I wonder if we could at least get M3 loaners if our M5's are going to be out for a few weeks.

I can check if your M5 is on the list.

Personally I have one customer who is on the list. He will have his M5 delivered to the Performance Center after European Delivery. I assume that by re-delivery time the part will have been installed by the VPC. I'm happy BMW is doing the right thing.

Regards,
David
