Awesome pictures of the M5 Xpel clear wrap installation. Im also thinking of installing it on mine the week it arrives in the US.

How's the wrap working out for you? Does it show a lot and change the "feel" of the frozen paint at all? One of the things I like most about frozen paints is how it feels to the touch.

Hi frisky, I would say the best investment you can have for a individual frozen paint protection. Sorry I can't remember the actual feel of the frozen paint work on my car. It was wrap immediately after picking it up from the dealer.

The Xpel Satin Clear film are very thick. You need a very good installer to get it done nicely. The feel of the film are good. Best of all it make cleaning very easy. No fear or whatsoever that it will be scratch. Basically you can use a damp cloth to clean.

Appearances wise, you won't be able to tell that the frozen paint are wrap in Satin Protection film. On my M5 there are 2 area that are unable to be wrap. Door handles, because of the sensor area and the Shark Fin, because of the thickness of the protection film there will be an ugly joint line. With those 2 area unwrap, you won be able to tell they are unwrap on my entirely wrap M5. Thank you.

Cheers!!!

Hi. I am from the UK England. I see in one of your pictures you have m sport foot rest? is that correct? They wont supply me one in the UK as they say its only for US market. However we both share right hand drive vehicles. Do you possibly have a part number so I can tackle my local dealer who is not helping me much.

Thanks
Harry

Hi harry007, mine too is for the left hand drive foot rest (51472280942)(US market). I did some alteration on the bottom left corner in order to get them fit in. It fit very well and look original. BMW Australia won't sell me one, because they say it wont fit. I bought it from ECS Tuning from the web. I don't know if that I bought is a original by BMW, because there is no part number on the foot rest. But the price I paid and the finishing looks Original like a BMW parts.

You have to buy this original BMW design not any other design. If not you wont be able to cut out the left bottom plastic corner to get it fit. Please see picture.

Those little bag are parts remove from my M5 interior. Those parts are either plastic or alloy in silver colour. I Had completely remove everything that are silver colour in my M5 today. Except for the aircon/audio control knob which I am waiting for the Ceramic one to come in. I am sending those parts for a cosmetic upgrade to Black Chrome.

Cheers

such a great meticulous job throughout.

do you actually get to drive it much?

this will be one hell of a bespoke example for years to come... do you just like having projects on the go?? hope you keep it long enough to enjoy it.

I do like the BBS rims, but the Black CP rims do it for me

This is one hell of a build. Love your attention to detail and having everything documented. The interior looks great except for CF M-DCT shifter. CF On it just doesn't look right in pictures. But perhaps it looks better in real?

What do you do with parts that are taken out? Do you sell them / give to the shop / keep them for later? Or are you able to get some sort of credit for them against the new parts that you order? Just curious...

I think he is trying to sell them. I wanted to buy the steering wheel, but, I think he is trying to sell them in a line (at least according to our common service adviser.

Great looking 30 Jahre though .....
