pay to play... Voided my GTR warranty within a month lol, I can still blow out the engine as it sits right now...

Odds aren't good that you're going to get any kind of warranty, from any of these top tuners other than Dinan. AMS for example doesn't really even offer a warranty on anything but labor leading to failure, on their MAJOR GTR kits... Only company I know of is switzer on that platform. So don't get your hops up about any real coverage.

that is normally True... Just wondering why cant other tuners get some sore of Warranty insurance like Dinan has...

While GTRs are not as cheap to fix as reg Nissans the M5 is still relatively young as far as being Modded.... Im not worried about the motor blowing im worried about all the sensors oil pumps fuel pumps that have a tendency to go on these cars.... Electrical issues... DCT.... things that are nice to be covered under warranty. I had a E39 M5 for 10 Years - Dinan S2 you def gotta pay to play but if that's the case I would rather sell the M5 and buy a 997 turbo... which I may be leaning towards In a year or 2...

Honsetly I would feel a lot Better if the ecu wasn't drilled and had a real flash by OBD port...Like My ESS 135 was...

I ran JB4 at 3.5lbs of boost for like 15k miles and 6lbs of boost for like 4k miles lol I had 1 drivetrain malfunction early on with the JB4 at 3.5 and every now and then the ECU would shut itself down at TOP speed WOT on 6lbs because it was maxing out injectors and would protect itself...

The car can definitely handle it though, I don't know once people start throwing bigger turbos on it though lmao, especially with no real fueling options and DCT builds available [as you'd definitely break shit then]... Warranties as you probably know cost money, and have to be offset in pricing especially when your allowing your user to make changes to the product like with an ODB2 flash or JB4.

ESS/JB4 are pretty damn proven right now well into the top of their abilities to produce power combined with Meth, and exhaust+DPs/Intakes... I honestly wouldn't worry about it. The car is very good at correcting itself and most of that stuff can be popped off pretty quick incase of a REAL emergency, unlike my shep trans and turbos lol not exactly an easy job to take back to nissan.

As for bench tuning, your basically saying you have zero ability to quickly adjust the car in case BMW wants to peak around if you have an issue, but the + side is they have TOTAL control of what the car is doing unlike Piggybacks. So there is a trade off... Bottom line base Tunes, DP's, exhaust, intakes + meth is VERY safe for this platform.. Once you start aggressively tuning the car though or with turbo builds who the hell knows lol

People aren't giving the factory DMEs enough credit. I've been runining JB4 set up for quite some time maxed out with no malfunction lights all do to properly adapting the car. A lot of people think throwing on a piggy back and driving off car Gonna be running like a champ. Even if you lower your boost the car has to readapt do to giving more fuel from previous runs.
bigger turbos will help this car shine especially with tuning options. I believe clutches will be needed before anything else the platform seems to be doing great especially proven to withstand 1.62 60fts with lots of torque 645-660wtrq at hand.
We see how these turners bring their A game but so far my set up has been awesome with no issues or malfunction lights when properly adapted.

First, I think people that are so worried about warranties shouldn't be modifying brand new cars.

Second, I'm kind of surprised that how Dinan got started isn't more common knowledge... But when Steve Dinan started his business, he contacted BMW AG and NA and pitched his idea. He wanted to be to BMW USA what AC Shnitzer (at the time) was to BMW AG. Unfortunately they refused. So Steve did the next best thing, he started contacting U.S. BMW dealers individually. Every single dealer that offers Dinan upgrades have an individual contract with Dinan. Dinan parts and any failures associated with those parts are not warrantied by BMW. The dealer fixes the problem and files the warranty reimbursement through Dinan instead of BMW. That's why some dealers don't offer Dinan parts or warranty problems associated with Dinan parts.

Anyway, so new BMW owners have an option if they're worried about their warranty, just find a Dinan dealer. But their parts are much more conservative and a major ripoff in price (in my opinion) but that's the price you pay to not worry about your warranty.

Anyway, all aftermarket parts don't void your warranty, only if those aftermarket parts are what caused the other factory parts to fail.

exactly many people do not properly adopt the car and expect magic to happen instantly.
