F10 M5 H&R lowering springs
Wondering how many people are going to lower their cars. Wondering if we could get a group buy on these springs. They retail for $499 on the H&R website.

I was also interested in a spring application but I personally don't think they lower the car enough. Someone had posted pictures of the AC springs and honestly I couldn't tell the car was lowered. I'm going to wait for the KW sleeve kit, which should come in around $800 and be able to adjust my ride height to my liking.

That said, what is a sleeve kit? How does is differ from a coil over? Is it only to change ride height? Does it interfere with EDC? Thanks, Matt

I just looked up the lowering specs of the KW sleeve kit for the E9x M3 to compare. The max drop with that kit is 1.2"F 0.5"R
The E9x H&R sport springs drop is: 1.0"F 0.6"R So it appears the H&R springs drop more in rear and less in front. This is surprising. The F10M5 H&R springs drop the car 1.0"F and 0.6"R not sure yet what the KW sleeve kit specs will be for the F10M5. I found the answers to my above questions on the KW site. Sleeve kit allows ride height adjustment without interfering with EDC. Sounds ideal if the max drop is enough to get the look we want!

Personally I won't do it. What makes the F10 M5 the best car in the world is its ability to be a both a race tuned sports sedan and a luxury grand touring car when you want it. Why would I want to give that. The reality is if you want to preserve the brilliance of the m engineering, lowering springs must be combined with re-programming the adaptive suspension. No one offers that now, but Dinan is working on it.

I've had the H&R springs on several E90s and it definitely did kill the ride comfort , coilovers are much better and worth every cent. As has been mentioned on the F10 EDC is an important component and most folks want to retain its function.
The H&R springs are cheap and probably the "cheapest" option to lower the car (and close the ugly wheel gap) but based on prior experience I am somewhat cautious and concerned about ride comfort. I had the chance to ride in the ACS M5 with the ACS springs (Eibach springs with ACS specific spring rates) and it actually was pretty good . They are not much more expensive (460$) than the H&R springs. To me they'd be my preferred option for a short term solution until the KW sleeve kit is out .

Coilovers are the only way to go but someone needs to be able to crack the BMW EDC module and interact them with the factory controls. Lowering springs will definitely hurt ride quality.

I don't see eibach pro-kit for F10 M5 available anywhere. Can you post a link?

New Kw DCC works with OEM EDC and you are able to switch stiffness settings from your OEM controls. Currently this kit is only available for 1m and m3. I think it will also be available for the m5 soon.
