Thus, if it's not an M5 (or M3), I rather save the money and drive one of the non-M models because it just wouldn't feel "special" to me.

As for looks, the 6GC looks decent, but it's not my cup of tea. I don't know who could fit into the back of it. If you're over 6ft, then forget it. Even getting into the front seats are tough with the smaller entry opening (and I'm fit, but tall).

This concept really reminds me of X6 -- BMW clearly has identified a target market that will put looks ahead of just about all else (i.e. legacy of the brand, driving performance). The cars are wildly impractical, but seem to gain appreciation by those who really don't care much about anything other than how the vehicle looks (unless you're really tiny have really tiny stuff -- then, the practicality may not be an issue).

Perhaps BMW has determined that the M buyer today is different. It's not the guy who has followed the storied brand since inception and always aspired to be able to park an M in his garage and enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed, for years to come. Maybe now their buyer just wants the next best thing with a badge that is associated with a high price tag.
Well said.

Yes! Frozen Silverstone/Cohiba. My current mods on an M6GC would be quite interesting and unique despite the fact that I have followed the storied brand since inception and always aspired to be able to park an M in my garage and enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed, for years to come.

A lot of my friends feel the m6gc is one of the best looking, current bmws. I see the majority of my fellow, or at least the ones who responded, bimmerposters are not in agreement.

Was pure metal silver ever in consideration?
