Never asked the question, but I've got the car back thank God, and I'm back in love,

well my car is sitting on the lot covered at the dealership and I have no answers whatsoever. I know it arrived stateside about 3 days before the recall. And right now I'm seriously annoyed by the wait, especially since I've never even gotten to drive an F10 M5. I was told "cars awaiting delivery are getting first priority" but that was obviously a pile of doo doo. I'm unimpressed and disenchanted. and for me it ain't too late to turn back either so these people better get their act together.

UPDATE 10/2: Great news. My M6 oil pump has been replaced! The vehicle is being delivered to my office as I write this. What a relief! I hope all of you have similar smooth and seamless recalls. There is hope after all. I am getting the car back earlier than expected. All I can say is hang in there and good luck to all.

Only 11 days from recall notification to return delivery of the vehicle with completed recall service. Given the severity of this recall, I am very impressed with BMW and my dealer.
how scary is that. guess i will have to wait another year or 2 before i seriously look at the M5.

BMW NA called me today to let me know there is a recall on my M5. Thanks for the news flash. However, while I was on the phone with them, I asked when all the pumps would be shipped and I was told all replacement pumps will be shipped by this Friday. Taken with a grain of salt, but hopefully true.

I'm so pissed off that others have there car fixed (glad to hear that your driving again) but that i haven't had the courtesy of even been giving an update by BMW. Talked to the dealer, they haven't heard anything on my car... Called BMW NA and they were like, no one has gotten there car fixed yet...COMPLETE LIE. I'm done with BMW after this experience, not even mad about the pump being recalled, the fact that they contact some and not others is bull shit, oh yeah, and the ventilated seat option is the biggest rip off of all time, check out Audi and Porsche when it comes to this. Sad / disappointed / and embarassed owner of a 2013 M5.
Wow! I was riding high on the wave of my successful recall. Now I am rather disconcerted. If the tables were turned I would probably feel hopeful that my pump would be on its way. There was no advance warning on mine. I knew there was five of us. You probably figured out who I was because I am the only M6 out of the group. I understand how you feel. When the BMW CA called to notify me, I unloaded on the poor guy. I tried to make up for it later by eating some crow. Perhaps the squeaky wheel did get greased in this case. In any event, I wish you get your recall resolved quickly. I would rather have a friendly colleague to share my BMW experience with rather than a disappointed one. Despite being on my fourth BMW, I have not joined the BMW CCA or its local chapter. I have now. I wish you well and hope we can hook up at the Oktoberfest and commiserate over our experience perhaps over a beer.

Perhaps a wise choice. However, once I got my vehicle back and heard that distinctive sonorous roar...I'm glad I did not wait. Its emotional not logical.

Who did you order the ADV's from. I ordered mine 5 weeks ago and can't even get a status.

I just wanted to say, I'm not mad at our dealership / nor you or anyone else who got there cars replaced, in fact i'm quite happy that's the case, i know it didn't come off like that...i'm just mad how BMW NA is keeping a lot of us in the dark and saying how no one has got there's fixed, when in fact a lot of people have had there cars fixed, if they would just tell me the truth i would respect them a lot more. If they said we have an order of pumps going out in two months, at least i would know something. They keep the dealers in the dark, or some of them it sounds like. Glad your up and running, i would love to join a chapter or something with a group of M5/M6/M3 to meet up and look at cars or do a drive somewhere, don't know anything about that in our area. But I'm interested.

First step; join BMW CCA (Car Club of America) for about $48/year. You are then automatically signed up for our local chapter, Nittany Bimmers. You will begin to get regular e-mails from both regarding events, mtgs, driving schools, rallies, etc. Our chapter has a couple of slots left at the M Driving school for the two day version Oct 20th or so. On Saturday 13 Oct 12, our dealer is holding an Oktoberfest. It includes food, BMW fellowship, a car show and maybe some driving event or school but I'm not sure on that one. You will also get the monthly magazine Roundel which is remarkably well done.

With all the pumps going out, I am confident your M5 will be complete by then. If not, come anyway and we can continue to rag on BMW and discuss compensation over a beer and a brat. There is an entire thread on compensation. Check it out.

Not to be discouraging, but I’m not surprised, these same guys ran 360 Forged into the ground. I had an order in with them 4 years ago and was assured delivery of my Mesh 8 wheels despite my constant calling asking about internet rumours I was hearing about them being in financial difficulty. Luckily I placed my order through another vendor since they went bankrupt during my order process and never intended to make my wheels.

I also recently spoke to an X5M owner who has the ADV 5.1 super concave wheels – he told me he paid $7500 and they did not build his wheel to his specifications. For that type of money, theres no chance I’d ever give them my biz. But I do hope you get your wheels soon, or at least an update.

A search will provide lots of dirt on the previous 360 Forged and ADV 1 companies. Many unanswered calls, botched orders and just bad business.

Not to mention $1000 off an M5 once youre a member for a year - unfortunately I may miss this by 2 months!

Hopefully you're luckier than I was. I got the guy who said they are not allowed to speak to customers and refused to give me any information.

cmhsam was lucky to connect with someone a little more helpful.
