If you want an M Car, you are going to drive it fast. So the key is to build your car control skills on something more normal and then switch up.

Although the TS sounds like a responsible kid, he is 18. At first I thought so what. But thinking back to when I was 18, over 20 years ago, I did some stupid stuff. I had a very fast car and drove around looking for 5.0 mustangs to race. I just wanted to be at a red light next to something fast so I could taunt with some revs and hopefully get them to bite. I think the m3 would be a lot more forgiving, from what I have read about the dangers of the M5. Actually from what I have read I am a little scared of my incoming M5
Regarding the M5 in Ocala, they were doing something very stupid and illegal (trespassing). I actually have an article about that accident printed up with some papers to hand my son when he gets his license in 11 years.

The M5 is a powerful car, it's damn hard to drive it slowly because of how responsive and how powerful the car is, especially when all of that power is going to the rear wheels and has a relaxed TC as stealth.pilot said, I would suggest a 535i or a used 1M (Depending on space needed, both of these cars will give you a nice feel for rear wheel drive and how BMW's are to drive. I think it is a little irresponsible of me to suggest a full fat M5 to you as you are quite young and if you were to try and impress your friends things can get out of hand quickly, I'm not saying you're a bad driver at all but I just think that this car is way to overpowered for you, as the other guys on here have said, start with something not so powerful and build your way up. Us Sikhs have a habit of drinking our sharabi and driving Great to hear your doing well at such a young age, hope business is going well!

Your parents have nice cars, toyotas will last them a lifetime.
Also, your dad would love an M5 if he wants the room the large sedan brings with it and not to mention the tidal wave that would follow him everywhere. The F10 M5 is substantially better than the F10 550 m sport package (handling, speed, looks, exclusivity if thats something he cares about) * Since you know a thing or two about the trucking business, do the truckers you know get angry when cars fly past them doing over 150mph?

Agree with the 1M suggestion! That's a fun car, sounds awesome and gives you similar power in a slightly more handling package and looks great in orange.
For me when I got my first BMW I wanted an M3 but instead started with a 318 then 328 to get me used to driving a rear wheel drive and then upped the power over time. That said when I finally got in an M3 the first time I entered a motorway I floored it on the slip and did a 360 before I knew what had hit me (before the days of Stability systems) so even when you think you know what you are doing you can suddenly come unstuck very quickly. However I don't wish to preach, we've all been 18 and wanted the fastest cars so I feel for you. Good luck |

Think the surname gave away the punjabi part Even I thought the same, and I'm for the UK. If you don't require the space requirements of a 5 series, id say take a test drive in a 1m (a much rarer car in my opinion YOU won't see very often) and less power but much more nimble. All the best

He won't die unless he's trying too lol. And besides I only got pulled over 4 times [no front plate offenes] , and handcuffed once [long story] Op will be fine... If he's really looking for luxo and sleeper power a tuned m5 will be nuts, but if he really wants to feel the speed you guys are right about getting a different car. |

I say get an E92 M3 with comp pack. such a sweat NA v8 that you can trust, has progressive power, no lag or sudden turbo like boost. still favourite of all my past cars... I started with a right old shit box car at 17/18 and got an E36 M3 evo at 23, after saving for like forever. I wrote it off within 5 months and never forgave myself. it was pre 1997 so had no traction control and boy I needed it. I too did a 360 on a slip road entering a dual carriageway, when the rear end had a mind of it's own...
The E92 M3 I owned until this year allowed me to drive hard and can be very forgiving if you treat it right. it looked after me for 3 years without fail. I had several driving days and driver training in a V8 m3 so I could realise the potential of the car and its limits and wow... it will amaze you what the car is capable of, especially round a track. for all your UK guys, I have done Jonathan Palmer Sports a couple of times now and it is probably the best day ever!! Now I have the F10 M5 cp, I have to say it still scares me sometimes just how much power this beast has. you cannot underestimate it or completely trust it. even in a straight line in dry warm conditions, the traction light is fighting to keep grip. if you turn off the traction, you better brace yourself for a burn out and plume of smoke, if not a crash. I do not know your driving style, but at 18 there is not a chance in hell of you keeping the M5 on the road or out of trouble for long. it's not as fun as the M3, because it's so much heavier and more powerful. but if I was in your shoes, with money no object, i'd be getting a lambo, Ferrari, R8 or Porsche... not a 2tn family saloon car, and screw what other people said to me, but i'd have my tail between my legs shortly after, when I come unstuck and stack it! good luck mate and keep safe

The MDM is a life saver, and yeah the weight will bite very hard if you push it just a tad past that great weight hiding engineering bmw did.... I was getting it to kick out almost 100% sideways in the winter driving around on summers in 8 degree weather lol. He should be find if he's got a sane bone in his body... The car has amazing brakes and engineering so you've REALLY gotta be high on the stupid meter to botch it and I think I was pretty high on it lol Idiots are idiots and any car can kill them |

If you have to constantly caveat "this is not a troll" in your post...that might be a sign that you should reword your post and omit superfluous stuff like pictures of Lexus SUVs and the history of your trucking empire. Otherwise, it is really hard to take this post serious and it might as well be a troll post... just saying...
