Stage 2 tune will be released in Jan.2013.
Since it is a Cat-delete you are inquiring about,
yes, it will require stage 2 tune of TYR TECH.
We just want to make sure all things are correct and tested before
we distribute this software to dealers and customers.

Note: Stage 1 Tune is ready to ROCK right now.

As you know, I just had your system with valve control installed by Platinum Motorsport, and I love it! I have a couple of question.
  • Will I be able to upgrade to Stage 2 Tune with Down Pipes
  • How much horsepower to the rear wheels will the total solution increase over stock?
  • How loud is the stage 2 system when the values are closed.

First of all, Thank you very much for your purchase of Meisterschaft exhaust products
and hope the purchased exhaust products are meeting your high expectation standards in various ways.
We also thank you for your compliments.

We will have an updated technical information regards to TYR TECH tune (Stage 1) posted in here soon (which is NOW available to Public).

FYI, TYR TECH (Stage 1) tune with "cat-delete downpipe" has now also become available,
so you do not have to wait for our (Stage 2) tune to be completely tested/finished for another month or so.

Yes, you may. sir.
The result will not be as great as having the full GTHAUS Meisterschaft exhaust system on your vehicle,
(since Meisterschaft units are utilizing 90mm piping for new M5 and M6)

but there should not be any fitment issues or problems using Meisterschaft Downpipes and TYR TECH (stage1) tune with Akra cat-back systems.

You're welcome. Sorry, I meant to ask if it would be possible to run your Stage 2 Tune without adding downpipe's? Also, if I do install the downpipe's, will the system be louder with the valves closed? Will there be exhaust odor as I experienced with my M3 when I did a CAT delete?

Thanks

TYR TECH (Stage 1) is designed to couple up with the Cat-back exhaust system
TYR TECH (Stage 2) is designed to couple up together with Turbo-back exhaust system (including Downpipes)

When you install the downpipes,
Yes, the exhaust sound will be much louder than a set up without, even with the valves closed/shut.

When you do the DP (cat-delete) set up, since the exhaust gas is not filtered through the cats,
Yes, you will smell more noticeable exhaust odor (when you are outside of your vehicle).

This may be completely stupid, but if you install the Catless Downpipes any idea if the car would pass US emmisions?

Just a wild guess, but with the tweak to the ECU needed for the car to run properly with a cat delete, I'd doubt it would pass any state's test for emissions. Even without the ECU tune it would still probably fail, I doubt any manufacturer that could pass without the cats would use them.

I had Evolve catless headers on my E60 M5. I passed emissions with the tune. FWIW, I never got a CE light without the tune, which I thought was interesting...

Wow, that's interesting. And I'd have thought the V10 NA engine would be even worse than the F10 is. When you say you didn't get the CEL without the tune, do you mean with the catless headers but before the tune?

Yes, there was a 2-3 week period before Evolve was able to get my tune completed, and during that time I never once saw a CEL.
