*knock on wood* but haven't had any slippage.

Getting traction is my biggest issue

I swear I'm starting to have slippage with a JB4-Map 2, intake/full exhaust, stock DP's. I'm concerned about going catless due to slippage.

So did you have to remove your ECU's and ship them to Mike or did you have someone locally open them? Do you notice any sealing issues with the ECUS? Would you be able to take some pictures around the edges of your ECU's? I had a flash tune before and it did not please me as my ECU's were jacked up with a hole in one, cover was bent in, and the outer edges looked like they were broken into on the other.

He shipped the DME's to us. Turn around time is same day if received before 1PM. There is a pic of what it looks like when finished below.

We drill a small 1/4" hole in the exact spot necessary to flash the DME's. The edges and covers remain 100% intact and unmodified. In the past we would open the DME's but found drilling them to be a much safer method of accessing the board.

We drill them while they are mounted upside down and being vacuumed to ensure that no metal shavings find their way inside. After programing, we use a high temp press fit seal that will ensure the ECU stays sealed from the environment.

I've circled the seals in red in the picture below. Another option we offer is a metallic like flat BMW sticker which looks factory but I prefer the press fit seal. Ignore the black boxes, I had to remove the #'s from the ECU's before posting this picture online. Also posted a pic of one of the programming stations for fun, but it's from a couple years ago.

Hope this helps.

Mike I need the instructions too on how to unplug DME's and send them to you. And will the service find out that I unplugged them and flashed them? And what options I have in flashing?

Shoot me a PM with your contact info and I'd be more than happy to send you removal instructions and answer all of your questions.

Thanks!

I've never disconnected the battery before ECU removal, but it's probably not a bad idea for those less experienced. Definitely don't disconnect the battery and close the trunk... That's a big fail! Whenever I disconnect a battery I usually unlatch the folding rear seats just in case

Edit: found your PM and replying to it. Didn't realize I had some many inquiries via PM sitting there. We've been slammed the last week- two cars were shipped to us from out of state for large jobs, and lots of M5/M6s in and out for tunes which has been very time consuming. Sorry to anyone who has been waiting for a reply - getting back to all of the messages now.

For a guaranteed quick reply, please call or email us - pms are always checked last.

Email is benvo@bpmsport.com directly to me or info@bpmsport.com general inquiries. Thanks!
