Thinking of doing a chrome or matte wrap?
Greetings everyone,
I just spoke to a local wrap shop and talked about getting my car wrapped next week. My top choices are Chrome Blue (is it legal)? Chrome Gold (tacky but hey it may be cool) Matte Purple (tron style). I don't want to get matte black Thoughts? I know they are countless colors, i just want to get the best that everyone likes. |

There was a chrome blue M5 parked outside in my complex for a bit, I thought it looked ridiculously horrible. I just dont think chrome suits the M5 all that well but if you like it go for it. I do think a matte purple would be interesting though.

On 3 days off in 3 months.
Its novelty and better suited for extreme car variants (the chrome application) IMHO. I do like some of the matte applications for the M5.

chrome might be illegal in some states... it depends if the chrome is bright enough to cause glare into the eyes of other drivers under bright sunshine.
check with your local laws regarding this before you do the wrap. would suck to have to remove after you already spent so much time and money doing the wrap.

for the entire car, i would probably recommend plasti dip only if you wanted to test if you liked a color (and the color would pretty much have to be matte finished, as glossy plastic dip i have not seen). But it is irrelevant for the chrome.

There is someone in south FL that has a gold chrome 535 with air ride suspension. Let's just say that it's not everyone's taste. It's a very extreme color and personally I think it completely ruins the entire look of the car. If your def going to wrap the car, I would go with something in a matte finish over any chrome color.

I have deiced that its not the best thing to do any chrome, i don't know what i was thinking. Good thing i didnt do it haha. Its just a lot of people have been telling me to do it. I was driving behind my car the other day i realized how nice the Alpine White is. It would be a crime for me to ruin the car. I was going to do it from Dedona which uses avery and another layer to protect the wrap. If I'm going to do a wrap it will be matte for sure, perhaps matte metallic blue or matte purple. Im going to do the dinan tune soon but i can't find any videos that shows the difference?
