I hate those dam things! It appears both pre LCI And LCI versions have the fingers. Im half tempted to pull them out with pliers.

Actually, cutting that plastic to fit the cup holders, ruins the rear seat air flow...

That tunnel is actually the rear air flow path.

I would NOT DO THIS if your an older build.

I don't believe this. There wouldn't be a carpet with holes in it with air running down it. There would be a proper plastic air duct supplying air. What is your source and evidence for this statement?

I might be wrong...

I cut mine to install the new cup holder. Whatever I cut looked like a plastic tube.

Once I was done, I turned heater on full blast and my cup holders got super warm and I heard plastic fragments run down my center console from my shifter to my rear seat HVAC. Where the plastic bits sounded like they got sucked into the rear fan and shot out.

So I assumed I cut into a air/heat tube.

Today I ran my AC and my cup holder was cold and blowing air out of the fingers.

You tell me...

LCI cupholders blow in the first place, not sure why anyone would even bother switching to a slightly better, but equally shit solution

How sure are we about which build dates the rear climate tube changed? Mine is a 2013 model year with a 8/2012 build date, and wondering if I could pull this off...

I think the more important issue we need to solve is how do we get the fingers to stay retracted ? This would make the holder able to fit a much larger size cup.

I can't get my protein shaker cup in them and it is killing me !
