Fabulous combo, by far my favorite! Congrats!!!

It seems to me most of the M5s I am seeing are without the full merino leather, which is a bit surprising, as it looks kinda...plain 5-series-ish. I had that option on my E39 M5 and frankly have missed it ever since, I'd totally opt for it even with a $3,500 price tag (especially with the white interior it adds a bit more white leather accents vs the black plastic trim).

I heard a rumor last week from a very reliable BMW source that BMW will do some changes to the console on the 2013 M5, if this rumor is true would you be willing to purchase a 2012 M5?

That rumor is not true. Per the BMW NA M Manager and also the Marketing Director for BMW M, the 2013 M5 changes are not supposed to be customer facing. The changes will be small electronic changes underneath.

You are right! Sometimes I feel bad without ordering the full leather package. Here is the reason: when I ordered this m5, the price have not came out yet, so we don't know how much for the leather package, in uk it cost almost 6000 ponds, so I thought it probably cost around 8,9000 dollers in Canada, that's why I ddnt order the full leather package. There is Another problem for the leather package, it includes the leather for both dashboard, lower door panel and seat back, the dashboard leather is good, but the seat back and lower door panel is not that useful, plus that's the easiest place to get mad and dirty in the interior. Also I have sliverston for interior, so it would be even harder to clean.
The leather dashboard looks good for sure, but believe me, when u acturally drive this car, you really don't care if that's leather or what

I understand, and makes sense, tough to click a box on an option without knowing what it costs. Think of it this way, you have an M5, so no reason to look back, enjoy it safely!

BTW, if you get full leather on the Silverstone interior, isn't the seatback and lower door area in Black leather, not Silverstone? Just wondering, not seen actual pictures of one vs the other, but it would make more sense if BMW did not keep that area white as there will be no doubt scuff marks and such.

The full leather package on the Silverstone interior will give you white leather on the seatback and lower door panel, im 100% sure about it, it would be hard to clean

This would give you an idea about how the full leather interior package looks like with sliverstone

Gotcha, you are right. I just looked at the 360 visualizer on BMW Canada's website, it is quite handy to rotate and stop at various bits around the cabin while selecting full an extended leather, that way you see the actual components.

It looks like only the dashboard and upper part of the door panels is black leather, all else is Silverstone (including back of the headrest, seatbacks, glovebox, lower console trim, door cards). Hmmm, may be too much white indeed, especially in high volume areas where the white leather can be easily scuff marked. I guess also explains why the option is $3,500, definitely a lot of leather and tricky parts to wrap.
