Oil Consumption Fix

I wanted to share something positive with regards to the oil consumption problems with my 2013 M5.

I bought a CPO about 4 months ago. I emmidiately noticed the exhaust tips had a excessive amount of carbon build up. Cleaned and went on with life for a bit. The tips became carbon crusted again very quickly. The engine also asked for more oil within 800 kms. Went and got topped up at BMW. I also started to notice a cloud of white smoke when getting on the gas (i think it was always there but just didn't notice). Car asked for oil at 800 kms again. Brought it back to BMW and had them open a file so we could document the oil consumption. Topped up again by them. Car asked for oil again at 800 kms. Spoke to the shop foreman and he decided to bring the car in for a look. No oil leaks. They updated the vehicles software (measure 54308586) that improves the oil level measurement cycle. When they told me this I was pretty sceptical to say the least. The car just asked for oil for the first time in 5,700 kms and the exhaust tips are clean.

I hope this helps one of you.

Carbon build-up isn't oil...
