Thanks &I will do. I will have my wife write it she's much better at that than I am.

Don't know what we are going to do yet.... I DO KNOW that 1200miles service and the ring will both be on the list. My wife has family In Paris so we may just go there for the trip then use some miles some where. I would like to visit Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg (our company's headquarters) to get a token picture of our PO BOX or what ever is there. then the ring and back to Munich. dont know if 10days will be enough time.

You know you can actually transfer the original ED build to the new dealer if your new dealer contacts BMW NA ED dept about it.

Interesting would have helped. Too late now though. I am still following my old build too =). They changed the color to AW and took some options off. its in production now.

Ultimately I am happy we were able to make this deal.

$127,475 MSRP for $113,920 w/Euro and PD. Discount = $13,555.

Wait, I thought that dealers were not discounting more than 7%... How's you get this deal?

That's a good question i dont know how they can sell it at that price but the buyers order is signed and euro delivery is setup. The deal acutly started at a lower sales price than 113k deal (111k)and it was a mistake/ misunderstanding on the dealers part. So i held them to the fire and with an act of congress we were able to agree on the 113k with corporate GM approval. We had to deal with three dealers and the other two said they could not come close to that price.

I looked at financing and lease options with them and they had marked up the money factor and interest rate to recover some of the funds. So I said I will just pay cash. I think they were hoping I was going to lease so they would get their money back on MF. I would have leased if they had given me a fair deal but they would not budge on high MF.

Took three months of back and forth with the manager all the way up to the companies corporate GM to close this deal. I am very happy with the price and the dealer even though we had a tough time getting to close the deal.

With that config, I am coming up with an ED MSRP of $122,460 and an ED wholesale of $112,675 (I used 8% off ED MSRP for options). Little more than a thousand over sounds like a good deal for both sides -- did you use my spreadsheet?

You got it B-1 ED is 6300 less than US MSRP i think. Thanks for the sheet it helped with the original 111k starting negotiating price . The other two dealers would not budge much from ED saying they just did not have the latitude to due so. My original dealer was willing to meet me half way. The second dealer could come close to 117 with US delivery but said he could not do the 113k for ED, he said he even called the region BMW office to see why another dealer could go that low on ED and if they would work on the price But of course all of this is a game so who knows what is reality.

How many other members have gotten discounts in addition to ED (i know some have). What additional discounts did they get?

I ended up $2400 over ED invoice or $5900 under ED MSRP once all options are figured in... so I did close to what you ended up with but not as good... considering the sales manager told my CA he wasnt allowed to go anything below $4k over ED invoice, and I was able to get the only pickup in date in Sept that would work for both me and my wife for the next 6 months, I'm very happy.

Does that amount include owner loyalty of $1000?

B-1 i did not have any incentives. They might have used them anyway. They extra off MSRP could easily be the extra mark up on my extra options. So it makes sense. Looks like we both got great deals.

I am assuming you're aware that Nuernberg and Nuerburg are in very different parts of the country ?
If you indeed want to visit Nuernberg that's fine but otherwise you may want to skip it and go straight towards Cologne/Nuerburg Ring ?

apart from that it looks superb - The black forest is the best road I've ever driven on. Have a look at my video (search alpine run).

Neil, this makes me sad... after watching your video I rerouted my trip to go along the blackforest highroad, and last week it dumped rain adn was completely fogged out the whole route. Oh well, maybe I will get to see it next time.
