Weird one
This is a bit of a strange one but for 2 days now I've been experiencing a grinding sensation coming from my front left wheel. I have examined the tyre and it seems to be fine no bulges etc.
I can feel it in my foot rest but otherwise the car seems to be driving perfect, Any ideas? |

I suspect some debris. Maybe gravel? Try a good power wash.

I have not seen any new cars with a bearing issue but is that a possibility ?

Hey guys I've checked the tyre for gravel/debris and it all seems clear. I'm thinking it's a bearing that is the problem.
The only thing I'm heading towards is a wheel bearing. Has anyone else experienced a failed bearing if so what are the symptoms |

I've had the front bearings replaced on mine. Per the dealer it was a defect in the part.
I had clicking during tight turning. Are you or have you experienced that? [I've got a post around here somewhere about it] Regardless, a good garage/dealer could check the bearing fairly quickly for you. |

Driving this morning I was listening for the clicking and can confirm that I have a faint clicking sound from the driver side when turning left.
Oh well I'll be calling the dealership shortly. I'll keep you posted |

No I haven't dealt with them. i've spoken with Sytner in Harold Wood, who were pretty good, but always bought my cars at Elms, Stansted. are the Chigwell guys sorting this out for you? how old is your M5? i had B&O speaker problems straight away after delivery. Elms ordered new AMP and speaker and fitted in a couple of days. hope your problem isn't too serious mate and you're not off the road for long..

I'm at the dealership now and they are trying to tell me that the noise is normal apparently high performance cars do this because of their special brake calipers. I just told the guy that I have a little experience with high performance cars and it's not normal. Car is booked in for new bearings. Lets see what happens

Just an update I have collected the car today, bearings were not changed after all. Instead they have changed the front brake pads and put some grease into somewhere. The car car is not making the clicking sound anymore but I can still feel the weird sensation in my left foot when I rest it on foot rest

So the clicking noise is back and the grinding too. The break pad change which was said to be the problem has blessed me with extremely squeaky brakes which is so loud that people turn and look. My last pads had no problem at all. This time I'll insist on a courtesy car I'm not taking a cab.

Update
I have finally had new discs and pads and wheel bearings replaced. But the clicking sound remains there. It's now really annoying because I am listening out for it all the time. Every time I turn right I hear it coming from the front wheel. Can any of you guys on here give me an idea on how to move forward and get this resolved. Has anyone come across this before? |

Hmm. Based on my experience, both front wheels bearings were replaced due to the corrosion and clicking sound ... since the replacement, the clicking sound has not re-appeared.
Is yours replaced on both front wheels ? |

Interested to know the results of this as I have a similar problem, but it comes and goes.
