Dashboard ! - how to get rid of it

This morning, I got this informational ! inside a triangle and checking the vehicle info, it was about the battery being drained while stopped (not used for past 4 days) that some devices have been turned off -- I guess to conserve power and prevent the battery from being drained, some devices were turned off (lately it has gotten quite cold here in the NE). Anyway, I have been driving for an hour so that should have put some charge to the battery but that informational ! still lights up on the dashboard. How does one get rid of it?

That should have been gone by now. Maybe there is another message in there. Did you check?

Best way to get rid of the dashboard is to hack it out with an axe.

That's what I thought but anyway, today, the message is gone. It probably needed more run time for the battery to recharge. This morning, I took the car to work and noted that the message was not there anymore. Thanks for your input.

I wouldn't use an axe. A polymer pry bar is better, so you do not damage the dashboard.

Well if you're getting rid of it, what does it matter if you damage it.

I'm curious to hear how the car drives without a dash. Weight savings will help, but controllability may suffer.

I notice on my LCI, no matter how it's driven as soon as it's turned off the water pumps and cooling fans run on for about 5 to 10 mins.
I have taken the step of once per week putting the battery on "Over night Charge". costs nothing but may help the car.

The battery charges when it is coasting. Strange, but that is when it takes place. You can see it on the display when you change it to the efficiency mode. My car sometimes sits for 2-3 weeks with out driving it. My wife hardly drives it.

I had excessive battery drain and it was caused by a faulty trunk latch. It would think someone was getting into the trunk at night and turn on the computers. It would do it at weird times like 2 am. Replaced module and no problems since.
