M5/6 SSP clutch review
My car = F12 M6
You the Man! SSPKris thank you for a great product and fielding all questions! Had Lalit@autocouture DME backend with Jb4 combo and revs where bouncing! My times where slower, car wasn't as responsive when j pressed gas at high speeds etc. (mods during video, jb4 map 2 and backend flash) good news- I had Big power Bad news- needed new upgrades clutch Great news- SSP had exactly what I needed Spec-R 900ft clutch. Had Lalit@autocouture coordinate and setup the entire thing along with a Brand new Stage 3 aggressive tune. It's only fair considering I have a new clutch now and can easily up the power. Finished break in last night and WTF.. Bits ridiculous. Daily driving- car jumps into D/R so much smoother and quicker; also the gear shifts in all gears are crisp and more fluent. Aggressive- what is their to say. Car just goes lol. Looks like I flicked the needle with my finger. It just jumps and goes!!! Gears bang 1-2-3 no issues with absolute clarity. This is a MUST have mod. No questions asked for anyone with anything more then stock. I bet you 90% people here have sliping clutch and don't know. Go to 70-80 mph and mash 4th gear and test it out! Mods after SSP clutch, DP, Stage 3 aggressive tune. |

Welcome to the dark side..!!
Guaranteed car will be quicker - you are correct that folks don't notice minor clutch slip robbing power. Have fun with it and drive safe! |

Much worth it!! It is a Must have Mod* My times are .5-.7 quicker as a result of a clutch that actually grips now. The time attached is not a downhill racer like these other posers. This is with DP, DME stage 3 Tune on Pump 93 and of course SSP clutch. Curious what race gas setting will be. |

More and more people will be getting clutches as these cars age and especially with Stage II + DP.
We tuned a 40k mi 2013 M5 on Friday and the owner fried the second clutch pack in one day!

What is the estimated all-in cost for this upgrade in the following scenario:
DCT removed by indy, shipped to SSP, SSP works magic, reinstalled by indy. Indy is @100 an hour.. |

The Stock clutch is useless with any sort of tune. It will only get worse. Unless you drive stock lol |

had whole new transmission installed 4k miles ago, i will wait until my clutches star to slip then upgrade. For someone running tune + JB4-BCM + DP's and intake are the clutches ok for upgrade or would you suggest whole spec R package?

I know SSP is in my future, but I'm running 650rwtq and haven't really experience much, if at all, slippage yet. Granted my everyday driving is pretty tame.
Glad to hear another positive SSP experience OP |

I have had my Spec R kit (clutches, baskets, etc) since December and I was super anal on the break in. I put 500 miles on it before I went WOT the first time. I manually shifted the car and most of it was done with city driving so I was changing gears a lot. I had ABR here in Houston do the install since they are the SSP authorized installer/vendor for our area. The guys their did an amazing job and had it done quickly, always keeping me up to date on things.
I have to say I went from clutch slip on my 680rwhp setting (4th gear dyno so probably 700+ if I used 5th gear from my testing previously, but I do not like 185-190mph dyno pulls) to none just tire spin in second on the R888s and crisp responsive shifts at wot. I'm going to be going downpipes, exhaust, Pure S1 and Meth sooner or later so for sure needed the clutch upgrade! Driving around normal in D1 you would never know it had aftermarket clutches in it at all. Kris and the guys/girls over at SSP have made a hell of a product!
