Congrats on your new arrival...mine is due in 2 weeks.

As has been said, it's all about personal preference. I personally do not want a louder sound and rather a stealthier ride. Less attraction of the po-po and we are talking about a 'luxury' sports car. I know that going from my present C63 I will miss some of those lustful notes, but you can't have everything...or can you?

Only mods I plan on doing to the exhaust is changing the tips to 90mm Cyba's. my personal preference would be to have a slightly more aggressive look with the larger tips.

Thanks to the guys on this forum, I was able to decipher what it was that fits my style.

For me it is completely a personal pleasure issue. I originally started with the Eisenman solution and I wanted more so I went Meistershaft. Each M5 owner has a mental image of what they think their car should look and sound like and I personally think they should make it happen. Everybody praises the twin personalities of the M5, but I would like it to lean more towards the race car personality, and the roar of a race car is crucial. Just my 2 cents...

Mark, would love to hear your exhaust in person. My plan is catless AMS DP's and Meistershaft exhaust with the EV, but If the oem exhaust sounds semi decent with the catless dp then do electronic exhaust cut out right after the downpipes.

Any other days work for you? Someone signed me up for pre-wedding boot camp every Saturday morning (no comment). I live downtown HB and work next to John Wayne, but dont mind driving up to you if that is ok.

I wish I could drive to Florida tonight to give you a ride!

Several people on M5Post have ridden/driven my F10 M5. They can all testify to how crazy it is and how more like a racing car it really is. Let me think.

These are just the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. There are many more. Just last weekend I gave a ride to a guy who was visiting SD from DC and he's a 2008 E60 M5 owner with a full RPi GT Exhaust on it. His words were and I quote "Dave, my cheeks are hurting from smiling and giggling so much from your car. It sounds better than my E60 V10 with the RPi GT Exhaust on it! You've convinced me that the F10 M5 can sound as good as the bespoke S85 V10."

Trust me bro, when I say my F10 M5 makes me feel like I'm driving an F1 car, in my case it really does. I'll say one last thing. Yes it is true the S63tu is a turbo engine, but on my car, no-one ever thought a turbo engine could sound this evil.

I guess I should do it. For one lucky board member it means a cheap Akra for sale if I don't like it!

NOTHING worse than waiting on a car. All you do is think about what else you can buy. Here I am thinking about going from AW to MCB. I am not as big a fan of the SMB but love the MCB on the M5. Never saw it on an M6 but I bet it would look sick with the full Vorsteiner CF Aero kit (already ordered) and my new ADV1 mate/liquid smoke wheels.
Akra with DPs. No drone, valves, gains, exotic sound. Winning!

Stealth nailed it...well done. Too each is own. The M5 should not sound obnoxious, but you should know you have 560 horses under the hood. The stock exhaust was okay, but too tame for me. I bought the Meisterschaft EV, this way late at night coming into my neighborhood, or if my daughter is asleep I can close my valves.

With all due respect...I agree that the car sounds evil and race-loud but the exhaust note it is not of my liking, and I agree with you that the E92 M3 in this video is not as loud as your F10, but whatever they did the E92 M3 in this video doesn't sound that good...

I give you all the loudness titles in the world but the note is not there for me...but again enjoy it to the fullest!

And yes I would take ride from an M mate anytime...I travel a bit so if I make to SD, I will let you know and maybe maybe we have an agreement..cheers

Yup. Very good chance I go down that road!

Just waiting to see if I can get a custom OEM done for the M6 first. I wish I could find someone local with Akra that I could listen to in person (even with no DP-I know what they will do, relatively speaking).
