can someone comment on how long it usually takes the shop to tune the car? trying to see if it's something that could be done in a day or 2 so that i can convince the wife to make a weekend trip to Houston from Dallas lol

I'd like to know that question as well.

That makes two of us! Not sure what to entice her with, however, because it's terribly humid down there and she despises the traffic.

Send jerry your ecu. Save the trip. It just depends on what you are trying to accomplish

If you only want the tune and no dyno runs / tweaks then looking at 2-3 hours assuming they start to pull ecus right when you get there. If you want dyno you could be there all day also assuming they start first thing in the am.

I seriously don't understand how people can charge 2000$+ for a tune that the edit through WinOLS with no dynoruns/datalogging to make it better. Even I can do that with our inhouse tuner, we are considering doing this for $999, same tune, same power, everything is the same.

Eurocharged has spent a good deal of time with a m5 on the dyno. I have been in the shop when they were doing some testing.

Boots you should get JB4 with canbus to log timing and afr , I got mine few days ago, my tune running rich up top mid to low 11's and timing as low as 6.5, just keeping jb at map 0

I think they have a way to. Registrar timing and afr. I will ask them but I don't want to spend anymore other than what's really needed. Thanks for the info. They might even have one there.

Hopefully the new software update will have more power between 6-7k as hp seems to take a dive in this range. The ams map seems to hold most of the hp to 7k.

Tuners increase timing at make a linear powerband from 6-7k.

Exactly! But they can only increase it so much when running high boost on pump gas.... It's not easy.
