Finally, HRE S101s - PICS

All,

After what seemed an eternity, the wheels finally arrived, and as the kids say, "the ride is sporting new shoes!" 21", satin gold fascia, polished gold lip, gloss black inner barrel. The KW V3s accentuate the wheels with a slightly negative camber stance. I could not be more pleased with the fitment and look. A special thanks to Joe, Brandon et al of Performance Technic (Dublin, Freemont) who have led the build since the onset; to RJ of RJ's Paint and Body, unequivocally the best body shop in CA if not beyond, who meticulously executed the subtle yet necessary aesthetics (door inserts, aero, front bumper, front cowl); to Lance at GMP who sourced the wheels and tires and is leading my X5 build and who recently completed our e92 project and lastly, Raz of RK Autowerks who has emerged as a performance automotive consultant par excellence. Passport 9500ci system installed tomorrow; custom standalone Aquamist meth kit and AWRON gauge installed when they arrive. Enjoy!

That gold really pops out!

Nice rear diffuser. Where did you get it from? It looks a bit more aggressive than the ones I've seen so far.

Thank you. The diffuser is an RW Carbon piece painted satin black.

Looking sharp! I see you like gold tones. I'm thinking of maybe a bronze of some sort come refinishing time. I like how your car still looks clean even though the wheels are gold. Keep it up!

I do like gold tones (and you should definitely coat the Velos spokes as such). Perhaps it has something to do with my affinity for Golden Era Hip-Hop; or my fascination with Ghost Face Killah and his pimptastic golden eagle necklace and wrist band. Generally, I am increasingly satisfied with the build yet simultaneously identifying new modifications. I fear it will only be a matter of time before I transition to turbo upgrades. And thank you.

Yes, those are on order as well. Realistically, I hardly drive the car, wash it every weekend and thus residue is minimal, but it will nonetheless make maintenance easier.

Huh? Why? If I wanted a newer version of the F10, I would simply buy one.

Ur20v, what 'dustless brake pads' would you recommend,...I will need new rear pads soon.

Check out my post on Carbotech 1521 pads- very happy with performance and dust reduction... much better than OEM!

Very nice. Maybe some LCI grilles as your next mod? And if you're really feeling crazy, some LCI headlights .
