Not a great photo, but my guess is all you can do here is repaint the panel. You could try to touch it up with this chip repair kit but from what I can see this is a pretty big mess and touch up won't cut it.

This is why I have clear bra on bumper, full hood, fenders, mirrors. rockers panels and rear bumper. Keeps the car flawless and the clear bra is self healing

what would a BMW service center do? would it be possible just to replace the whole panel?

Not a great photo, but looks rather nasty for rock chips. No need to replace the whole panel. Just get it repainted.

looks a little bit big for a rock chip. Repaint the panel would be my guess.

Then they sand or do whatever minor prep work necessary before repainting. Don't think any major work is necessary. Standard repaint should do it.

I got more rock chips in the 2 1/2 hour drive from Dallas to my home last week then I got in 2000 miles of driving all through Europe. Thank God my wrap is going on tomorrow!

The BMW dealership asked me why I was even putting a wrap on the car since it is a lease....he said they wouldn't have an issue unless a chipwas bigger than a quarter. My wife told him it was because I was OCD and want my cars showroom perfect all the time, but I just don't like looking at rock chips.

I seriously wonder if you could get a nice wrap right there in Munich after ED...

Did they not fix the chips at VPC?

I usually note the chips on the damage form at drop off and then receive the car chip less at redelivery. May add a week at VPC.

For future reference next time use trakk tape if you have a long drive back from dealer. I did that a couple of years ago when I drive the car back from Atlanta before clear bra application.

I would price out having the panel replaced. May be a few bucks more, but you won't see any rippling or fading in the paint. JMO

No need to have the panel repainted. Too expensive for nothing.
