Anyway I know it is tough to tell from the pictures but it looks like it took some paint off but I don't see any creases or deep scratches on it. I know it is plastic but it there anyway to repaint it or do you think I will be looking at a whole new bumper? damnit!

Sorry to hear. Fortunately it's a non VIN bodypart.

I'm surprised the 4 parking sensors plus top view cameras on the back didn't save you.

Sorry for the ignorance stealth but how does a non VIN bodypart help? Think it will have to go or can it be painted.

Yeah I think anywhere else I would have caught it.
It won't go on the CARFAX or Car Insurance if you don't use insurance to pay for the damage.

Yep definitely not using insurance for this, I just switched and don't want something this soon. So any idea on the paint vs replace? Again I know there are variables might not be able to see from the picture but I assume that could make fair difference but then again maybe the blending would make it not as good and maybe as much. Uggg.

Yeah I think anywhere else I would have caught it. No one parks there in my drive unless we are having a party or something, there is a space a car length back from that and one in front of the 3rd garage that people would park at not there! I was messing with MOG which I just got setup so I had my camera turned off the perfect storm.
Generally the resale market doesn't car about bumpers but only VIN-stamped bodypanels. So it shouldn't affect resale.

I had a similar scratch on my 550 and I paid $550 to fix it, they did not replace my bumper and you will never tell it was sprayed.. Sucked I paralleled parked on Collins Ave had a quick dinner and when I came out I had the horrible scratch.

I scratched my front bumper pretty similar to this, I had to repaint. Looks like a simple fix of repainting the back bumper, no replacement of the bumper. Stuff like this happens, not a big deal.

Looks similar to my rear bumper that was backed into while parked. Paint was taken down that far as well. Ideally you want the bumper removed and repainted by a reputable shop. It cost me $550 here in Houston, TX

Repaint. Inconvenient but it's an easy fix.

Thanks everyone fortunately you were right. I am looking at 600 to have it taken off and repainted by the BMW dealers collision shop which was in the scheme of things way better than I thought when it happened.
