This is very similar to the Porsche Turbo S and non S residuals set by PFS; the non S is always had a higher residual than the S by 4 to 5%. And now the AMG GTR has a 5 point lower residual than its slightly cheaper more streetable GTC brother.

I'm not sure about problems per 1000 cars for the Audi vs the McLaren though. My Audi is built very well, Ill say that.

Yup I'm at 17,000 miles and aside from getting hit, cars been amazing. Just did the Spark plugs, oil for the 3rd time, clutch test was fine which is shocking, and mounted some Pilot Super sport 4s tires so I'm very excited to get those out and feel the changes from the MPSS, I haven't had summer tires since my M4/STi so I'm anxious to feel them on a performance car since the GTR ran radials.

When cities the size of mine, Kansas City, gets a dealership I bet sales will take off.

I can see that in your case- its a logistical nightmare but even in markets where there are multiple dealers within 70 miles of each other (OC, LA, SF valley)- the cars are sitting. Generally the dealership market entry is a product of sales or expected sales and there are so many rich dealer owners that want to open more points but McLaren is not one of them IMHO.

Yup they have the region here around DC locked down, even though we have like 7+ bmw, mercedes and Auid (each) dealers....

We have one aston, ferrari, mclaren, two Bentley dealers, one lambo dealer, and up until recently the Ferrari/ lambo/ mclaren was owned by the same person lol. I think they took the rights away from that guy and now McLaren and Lambo is a single ownership/ group. and Ferrari is on its own. Not really a good way to get a great price or have negotiating leverage lol

Hell Mike has had several of them and will not buy one for 50% off he’s done, and told their CEO they over produce and too many problems. (3 650’s, 675, 570) He has issues with all of them and one buy back.......he also had the previous gen to the 650. My buddy is an executive at MB he said their quality control is a mess just not enough experience in that area. They have to over produce models to keep cash flow going.

Wasn't Ron Dennis a perfectionist? How are these issues possible when he WAS in charge?

My buddies mp4-12c has been amazing he dailies it hasn't had a single problem, but like you said especially with the older ones, I worry about the long term reliability. Even though I can get a trans for 7k and a motor for 21k for my R8, I can't imagine how bad it could be with no connections to someone being able to find me McLaren parts if it was out of warranty.

Yeah for me not worth the risk nor high depreciation. The majority of these cars will be garage queens at this price point. Thus I would buy a 488 if I was spending that type of cash. That why I like my RS you can drive the crap out of it, and it does not break.

All good man. I drive the crap out of mine when possible. I will admit to track most have slowed down due to replace a fender is 14k due to carbon. Less risk I would say as a better choice of words.

Slightly off topic but did Autobild do one of those tests with all of that information in it for the F10 or F06/12/13 generation of M5 and M6?

Edit, nevermind I managed to find it. Really should know to google first
