Is it just me or the bodywork is starting to look a bit over the top and Toyota-esque? Not feeling the overly screamy/attn-grabbing look. I like the comparatively restrained-looking gt3rs. Bet the perf is killer though.

212 MPH this thing will try to take off like a plane, can't wait to see the down force specs. My RS grips like a mother, but this thing will go to 1000 lucky people if they hold to the production count. Marks up will be 100k plus ...........the widow maker is back. My buddy owned the last Gt2RS, and he said it was the only car that scared him because of the rapid speed.

Whoa, how were they able to get 700 HP from a six-cylinder engine?

A few non 918 owners will get one as the production is estimated at 1000 cars. My buddy will get a PTS one non 918 owner. Some 918 owners have lost their rights from flipping, and some may pass. Porsche has added a restriction that they must keep the car for a certain period, not sure how they will manage? Once you hit 300k plus for MSRP some of the BS stops. The mark ups on the last RS out the gate was 100k, and this arms race will get interesting. Hell I can sell my RS for 220k, and would still have to drop another 100k .........noway for to drive something out of my limit of control. Amazing how many people smash these cars up due to being too mush car for them. Some guy just tore up a RS on the street this week. Fenders are 15k per fender, and the hood 20k alone. I'm very cautious where I push for those reasons.

Actually Porsche announced that it is not a production capped car. If you can afford it and there are orders, it will be filled therefore greatly reducing the markup market.

I stopped listening to Porsche a long time ago on orders. GT3 orders will not get filled in bulk until next summer. I have a line on a manual at MSRP for summer 2018 if I want it. Allocations are now being sold 30k plus right now, and Porsche knows it! They like the hype, and it drives up the demand they're created a mess they can't control now. I'm number 3 on the GT2RS list, but it's not a 100K better than my RS so no way I will pull the trigger.

The GT2 was built to slow the defections to MAC .....700 HP and 350k fully optioned. Spoke to a Porsche friend/executive. MAC has been losing money for years, and the last three were record profits! Let the battles begin ......just can see a 350k GT car. Listen to the NA motor during the burn outs GT3 vs GT2RS.

Totally agree with you there on Porsche loving the hype. I also have an allocation for 2018 that is MSRP. After getting to drive the RS I am quite torn on speccing the GT3 out to row my own gears or picking up a used RS for not much more.

It's crazy to me see a modern 991 go for more then 300K. Porsche has come a long way...

Agree, especially when the 300k is not based on development cost it's not a new motor and a RS body. That's why I got the Spyder love the tranny and 2900 lbs weight. I actually prefer the PDK because the car shifts lightning fast, and watch some dude money shift the new GT3 and boom over rev because noting will stop it. A 9000k RPM car with 500hps it will happen. When racing the RS shifting is one less thing I have to focus on, and pay more attention to my lines. Tear a fender up it's 15k, and I had some close calls .......the only way I will take the GT3 if I can get PTS.

My local dealer is getting 3. Two for him and his fiancee and the 3rd one for sale. He offered it to me near sticker but I don't have that kind of cash.

I find that interesting because no delaers have allocations? I see he took two, he will sell them above MSRP. But 918 owners get first dibs unless he has none, and or you're his one and only 918 owner? My buddy is a top Porsche cutsomer that has spent over 1M in two years on cars, and he waiting on his allocation.

Can't wait for the new GT3. That's a bit more in my price range.

He and his dad own a pair of 918s. So he got 2 dibs that way and I believe the 3rd one is from allocation or something I'm not 100% sure. They have (4) 991 GT3RS; a pair of 997 GT2RS, pair of 997 GT3RS. It's ridiculous how many Porsches he owns himself as well as what they have for sale at the dealership as well. He offered me a GT3RS in Lava Orange at sticker when they were selling for 50k over sticker. I wonder if he would sell me the 3rd one at sticker... That would make him my best client/buddy ever

Nice. However, 918 owners have not received allocations yet. They will be first to receive when they are released ....Porsche is still working the process.

I could be wrong, but he made it seems it's a done deal. Granted they own the Porsche dealership, but he's a client of mine and we have our annual review tomorrow, I'll ask him about it. From what he mentioned off offhandedly, 918 owners got emails saying they could go place orders. I'll double check with tomorrow and come back to ya.

You picking up a 991.2 GT3?
