Tell me about it. Someone's gotta run the show here! Bday or not. And the F12 would be so warmly welcome in my life. After the noise the M5 makes, that sweet V12 could seduce me all night long...

Don't know! I called my sales rep to make sure I did t have comp package because my car always felt strong. Even against my M6 that has all bolt ons would give it a run with just BMS tune and charcoal filter delete
Don't know really know. Even data logged in the Dyno and boost was just like stock.
Either way have a good base completely stock for intake comparisons

Ok so far data I've been getting on stock intake

A/F
idle:14.6 -
peak: average 12.3/12.4

Temp outside 83F
Intake temp when I got home after driving a lot
122F

When I pulled out started raining
Outside temp went to 78F
Intake temp while cruising went to 109F

2nd gear to third gear pull
Intake temp start 102
After 104F

Same type pull
Intake temp start 108F
After 113F

Same gear pull
Intake temp 108F
After 113F

So as for intake temps it would rise by 3-5F and it would take some time to cool down by cruising

Data I got so far on stock intake
Now trying to find a good road to do some Vbox runs
Will start at 50 mph in third gear. Want to be consistent in gearing and mph not looking for the quickest time. Want to see how the intake will perform
Will do 60-130mph runs

Also Vbox 2nd gear pull at 50 mph to see how much difference that will make when comparing both type of pulls 60-130 mph runs

Hope you guys enjoy this post

Thanks guys!

just a perfectionist hopefully will give all sort of great data and show how well the intake is performing. Even showing A/F's at first start up, third gear pulls while adapting and how cool the intake temps stay and get back to normal.

Also just finished the jigs for the intake

Someone has some fab skills.... Very nice to see some still hold onto the craft/trade of yester-year.

Kudos for blazing a trail and taking on this project!

Well did a couple Vbox runs just to get used to how it works. So far car ran 9.8's consistently and 10.0's with a passenger.
I wanna do some more runs to make sure I'm right on target. Wether I did a third gear pull or second gear pull at 50 mph it was the same results.

I believe the cars best run will be 9.8's don't see getting better than that.
Will try to again some more Tomorrow if I can. If not, no big deal.

I feel with Dyno numbers, Vbox, air fuels before and after adaptation will tell the whole story

I started at 50mph in third gear and 2nd gear same results. Maybe I'm doing it wrong

Either way I have a base and will run the car the same way both gears starting at 50mph all the way to 130mph

Installing R&D intake today we see how she does. Will take a couple of days to adapt then into the Dyno

Ok intake installed and on my way out of town.

First impressions

Car sounds the same inside no suction sound

Air fuels at idle the same
Idle smooth just like factory

Now for some testing

Notes from today as I travel

First 2nd gear pull car feels the same

A/F's low 14's high 13's peak
Here we go again looks like some power to be made

Now in the highway 3rd gear pulls
The more 3rd gear pulls the richer it got and now back to 12.4 12.6's AFs

Still has surges do to no fully adapted.

Car is staring to feel stronger by the pull

3rd to 4th gear pull
Car pulled strong as soon as I got into 4th had surges still needs to e to adapt but can tell its gonna make power.

It's hotter today 98F
Since its hotter intake temps now cruising are 120F
I guess the intake is showing cooler temps for yesterday it had these temps with lower temps outside
Will compare tonight when temps are in the 70's
I'm basically getting same intake temps like last night but its 15-20F hotter outside

First pull 120 went to 115F
After I let off went back to 120F

The difference with the factory intake was the intake temp got hotter by the pull and it climbed higher than cruising intake temp
Also had to cruise fur a while before it got back to normal temp

After several pulls the intake temp dropped by 4-6 degrees and then when let off it went immediately back to original intake temp

Cruised for 10-15 minutes the intake temp stated the same

Huge difference from factory intake

While I'm out of town I will continue to keep logs and data then plan to Dyno on Monday or Tuesday.

Hopefully will see some great gains

I'm not sure but just think after bms tune will be 7.1s that's what is shown on the website or somewhere if I remember correctly.

2.7s wow that's a lot of difference.

What's the size of the intake pipe? Is it the same as stock or bigger?

We see by Monday or Tuesday will do some more Vbox if fully adapted to compare. Might get better times from a standstill but I was just looking for a consistent run between both intakes not trying to get the best time.

Same as factory with some transitions
MAFs are so sensitive tried every size MAF location ect.
Always got codes till now

Good think both cars have different style factory box. One had snorkel while the other had metal cap. Intake doing good for both set ups and both cars
