I'll let someone else create and manage a 'caravans' thread. I never expected 100% turnout at all of this stuff of course.

I am in for drinks in Hofbrauhaus garden and Dinner at Brenners on Friday (+2). I am bringing my parents with me since they just retired and my mother is a vegetarian (not sure if this is a problem at Brenners).

For Saturday, I am up for dinner but like Barry B, only if it is at the end of an hour drive to Salzburg or Berchtesgaden or somewhere in that direction.

You and BarryB have a 9am pickup. You guys will be driving around while I am sitting around waiting until 2:20pm for my pickup! Its like Christmas day, looking outside, watching all the kids play with their new toys while you sit around the tree and wonder when can I open my presents!

6:00pm Biergarten at Augustiner Keller RAIN - Augustiner Gaststatten
Maybe the best Biergarten in Munich.
8:30pm Dinner at La Barraca
This is the one I'm unsure about, but it has great reviews, located where people can park cars, and has a very unique iPad ordering system -in English- where every patron gets a login so splitting the check is unnecessary since everyone is running their own tab.
10:30pm Drinks at Lenbach or somewhere similar.
(then on to P1 or Alter Simpl?)
List for 9/1
I'm at La Barraca once a week, and it's quite good Italian food. As you said, unique ordering system and small dishes so you can combine courses as you wish to.

Only thing is I don't really see where like 10 or more cars could park there on a Saturday evening.

Best regards,
south

Here's the conundrum with dinner on 9/1. You need a place that is larger, has good food but isn't too expensive (like brenner) and isn't in the altstadt so you could drive there but isn't too far out so those who haven't gotten their cars or don't want to drive can get there. I know a dozen great restaurants in Munich but they're mostly very pricey or very small.
I'm open to a local's suggestions.

I'm not a fan of Brenner but let's not digress. Don't get me wrong, La Barraca is a great suggestion, but I guess it depends if people wanna go there by car or leave their cars at the hotel/Welt/etc.

Another suggestion would be Seehaus which should fit your description. They have an own parking area but that might be full by that time on a Saturday evening as well.

Best regards,
south

I'm in for the whole evening on 9/1. Just me, flying solo for the trip. I'd love to catch a ride with someone for the evening if someone from the board wouldn't mind a passenger. I'm leaving my car at The Welt and flying home the next morning.

I'm a big fan of Grunwalder Einkehr, but I don't know how much the taxi ride is to get there on a Friday night.

You can catch a ride with us. I think we will probably want to do the drive to dinner outside of Munich

Ok so count me in for a nice drive on 9/1 too. I've got a 9am pickup as well. I don't really care where we eat, as long as we get a good drive in. Oh yeah I am +1 as well. I'm bringing the love of my life, my BMW Service Advisor. Lol!

Still 46 more days until D-Day by my count.

Schedule 8/31
3:30pm Biergarten at Chinesischer Turm - this will not happen if the 8/31 M-Studio visit is on. RAIN - Augustiner am Platzl
For the hardcore early crowd...
5:30pm Hofbrauhaus outdoor garden (walk through the main hall). RAIN - in the beer hall.
ok my comment on this is, some wanted to avoid it at all costs, but some told me they were dying to go, the outdoor garden is not as well known by tourist buses and can be a nice place for a beer actually
7:30pm Dinner at Brenner - just about 4 walking blocks away
One of the top restaurants in town, big open room so good for flexible groups as they can just slide more tables together, and very reasonable prices on the menu for the quality of the restaurant (entrees $13-22).
10:30pm For the bold - and those without 8am pickups - Milchbar or P1...
Remember that Midnight in Munich is just 6pmET...
List for 8/31
Ucla95+1
Stealth Pilot +2
Cmhsham+1
chudak+1

Schedule 9/1
begins later because I think people will be out driving
6:00pm Biergarten at Augustiner Keller RAIN - Augustiner Gaststatten
Maybe the best Biergarten in Munich.
8:30pm Dinner at La Barraca
Fairly close to the Keller and the Gaststatten.
10:30pm Drinks at Lenbach or somewhere similar.
(then on to P1 or Alter Simpl?)
List for 9/1
Ucla95+1 I'm cool if it's just us!

9/2 Schedule
3:00pm Biergarten at Viktualenmarket. RAIN - Augustiner am Platzl
For the hardcore early crowd...
5:00pm Drinks in the garden of Augustiner Gaststatten RAIN - in the beer hall inside
7:30pm Dinner at Weinhaus Neuner
One of the highest rated Bavarian restaurants and just a block away from the Gaststatten.
List for 9/2

Schedule 9/3
3:30pm Biergarten at Chinesischer Turm RAIN - Augustiner am Platzl
For the hardcore early crowd...
5:30pm Hofbrauhaus outdoor garden (walk through the main hall). RAIN - in the beer hall.

One of the top restaurants in town, big open room so good for flexible groups as they can just slide more tables together, and very reasonable prices on the menu for the quality of the restaurant (entrees $13-22).
10pm It's a Monday so a hotel bar is best -
Remember that Midnight in Munich is just 6pmET...
List for 9/3

Schedule 9/4
5:30pm Biergarten at Aumeister RAIN - Augustiner Gaststatten
One of the best in town.
8pm Dinner at La Barraca
Quite close to the Augustiner Keller
10pm Drinks at Alter Simpl
List for 9/4
Me +1 8/31 530 or the 730 sounds good. Prefer the 7:30
