BBS FI vs HRE P101
I'm debating if I keep my car and wait till the next generation M5 arrives or bridge the gap with a E63 AMG. If I keep my car I want to change up the wheels come next Spring. I have HRE P40s and love them and had P40SC on my previous M5 but want to try something new.
Would you guys get BBS FI or HRE P101? FI seem like the benchmark but I have never owned a set of BBS and have had several HRE's. I'm leaning toward BBS to try something new. However the one advantage with the HREs is going with wider wheels and more aggressive offsets. Thoughts? Price will be the same or maybe slightly less for the FI's. |

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to run MPSS 275/35 and 305/30 so I think the BBS will still look fairly aggressive. My HRE are wider but also heavier.

HRE is also offering the R101 Lightweight wheel now in 20" which is a closer competitor to the FI and FI-R from BBS. I'm not positive if you can get them in custom offsets and widths, they've been producing 20" sizes for certain cars like the GT3, M3/M4, and GTR, but can't hurt to ask!

21" wheels is a game changer IMO so HRE would be my choice. With that said RedRckt135's Black M5 with BBS 20" is as perfect as they come.

Yup! I don't know why but his car looks amazing on the 20's he has , I've see many and 20's look too small when going with aftermarket wheels. I guess maybe because he's slammed!

Just got my FI-R's last week. I didn't even consider any other wheel. I do have to run spacers but for me 2 main reasons I went with FI-R
1. weight of the wheels 2. German car - German wheels |

join the club LOL...cant go wrong with them!
same wheels but each car still has a different look - u would think the look would be "played out" but its not (not sure people still say "played out" might just be my generation LOL) Last edited by tec333; 10-24-2016 at 05:03 PM.. |
