Frozen paint

Hopefully not a repost. I was also wondering how would you treat a scratch or a dent in frozen paint.

Frozen paint is easy to maintain; in terms of washing and no waxing required, just a simple wipe off dry.

Thus, touching up dents & ding-ys are extremely difficult.

After my 2013 M5 died the day after I took delivery, went back in to service, the techs put on 160+ miles PLUS dents & dints. It'll be going back in today for repaint of the entire (freakin) bumper, they said they have to special order the paint from Germany....blah blah blah, and can't do spot touch up because of the difficulties in color matching...

Why did your car die?
As good as the frozen paint looks I am steering more towards standard paint and then if I want a different look I will get a wrap.

Got the M5 in October, went in to limp mood, all lights were flashing on the OBC & dash; drivertrain malfunction. Couldn't even go beyond 25mph. Finally pulled over on Seal Beach Blvd, and waited for a tow back in to the dealer

Got the car back a week later, the service tech at Shelly BMW were NOT specific with me about what is wrong....

Frozen paint might very well be a fade...standard paint might be more durable then frozen.

Take care.

Nice. Very nice drive on that part of PCH.

I'm north of PCH, walking distant from a local golf course.
