M5 vs 17 Ford Raptor
Hi. I'm not a truck guy. I've never had a truck. I don't have one in my definitive desire list.
Can anyone please tell me what's the big deal with these Raptors? What am I missing here? They are everywhere I look and on every magazine too. Thanks in advance. v/r The Mgmt

My 2014 I got is still worth what I got for it I paid 56 got 54 on trade they're selling for 51-54 with 35-50k miles... Almost like a GTR at its peak resale value.
Amazing handling with the fox shocks, if you've ever driven a jeep grand cherokee between 2011-2014 this truck can take turns faster and smoother, not to mention being almost off road worthy, the 6.2 sounds amazing, Navigation and sound system was garbage but everything else was amazing... I expect big things from the 2017 not sure about the engine and how forced induction will translate into resale but I was very happy with the truck for the 5 months I had it. I really wish I'd kept it over the M4 and had the Truck and GTR. |

I also had a 2014 Raptor that I bought new in addition to the cars listed in my signatures. Out of the 3, the truck got the most run. I can drive it in terrible weather, take the dogs out, have great cargo capacity and the ride is amazing for a truck. My suggestion is to change out the rear leafs if you aren't going to pull trailer to Deavers and you will be all set.

Raptors are unique given their production numbers compared to even the avg. diesel, but yes generally you are correct.
My raptor was blue and of the 1500 Raptors listed for sale, only 99 are currently for sale for blue, its amazing to see between 20-60k miles they're still selling for high to mid 40s and 70-110k they're in the high 30s... After 3+ years. mine had a sticker of 56 so knowing I could have drove 30k miles and still got 49k for it would have been a better bet to keep it. |

I just scanned Autotrader. I'm seeing a lot of 2017 Raptors listed for over $100k.
I just built one on FORD.com and fully loaded MSRP is $67k Are these sellers on crack??

Typical domestic dealer. Fucking hate the sleezebag salesmen and managers that think they have something special and mark cars up and rope them off in the showroom like it's a la Ferrari. I remember seeing a Cobra R ford was trying to sell for 80k in late 90's and they ended up sitting on it for years and selling it for next to nothing.

The domestic car dealerships are the worst. They don't know the value of a mans time and play those typical scumbag dealership tactics.
They wanted 30K over MSRP for the Raptor I bought. I ended up paying MSRP but still felt ripped off driving away from the dealership.

The reason I don't have a Raptor is because they were selling like a Ferrari, i.e. over MSRP and I got a better vehicle in the RR Sport. It's more attractive, more manueverable, faster and can go anywhere the Raptor can. Now it was $99k msrp compared to the $59k msrp on the Raptor so there is that. I started out with a used RR Sport to see if I liked it and then a year later I bought the new upgraded one I have now. To me, the Raptor is just too big so I am OK with not having gotten it. Heck I paid less than MSRP for my new Cali T so the heck with Ford and their crazy Raptor prices.
Here is how the two compare. |
