Agreed, this review is largely irrelevant. However, I did not find it as annoying as I thought I would based on the earlier posts.

Overall, the comments were quite positive. Some criticisms of the car 'bouncing', the sound, and that it does not look as good at the M6 GC.

My thoughts on these?

The car rebounds a bit more than I expected at highway speeds over sudden dips. It definitely doesn't bounce the way it seemed to be doing in the video. My car has the CP and that one didn't, who knows what was going on there. The non-automatic suspension on my Aston reacts very similarly over the same dip I hit on a semi-daily basis.

The sound. I know there is a lot of talk about this topic. I am totally fine with what I hear inside the car. I've powered through a couple of tunnels or alongside concrete retaining walls with the sunroof/windows open. Car sounds just fine in my opinion. It NEVER sounds like a Porsche or AMG. No idea what he was talking about there. I guess it might sound a bit like my S4 sometimes, but I actually like what I hear in the cabin more than I did with my S4. So it's piped in . . . I don't really care. That said, I am pretty curious to know what it sound like when it's off (but since you can't turn it off, I guess I'll never know).

I could have picked up a 6 series, seriously considered the vert actually. I'm really, really happy with what I got. The M5 is such a handsome car - the blue in this video was really quite attractive. I wanted a stealth car that only people who know cars would know what I have. I love, love, love this car. I may actually like it more than any other car I've ever owned . . . which I think is high praise considering the last few cars I've had the good fortune to own/lease.

As for this particular reviewer, I'm not impressed. The guy kind of comes off like a neanderthal . . . what was up with him getting all out of breath while driving? Seriously? LOL I vastly prefer Chris Harris, all the reviewers on Channel 5 (Tiff, etc.), and the Top Gear reviewers to this guy. The only guy I dislike more is this tool (http://www.cnet.com/profile/briancnet) that does 'car' reviews on CNET. I really like CNET but I can't even watch his videos anymore. He knows jack about cars . . .

90 range? wtf is he smoking over there. Cc breaks with the two common packages and you're already at 120k. I'm trading in my 13 f10 m5 for a 14 with the CP, CC breaks and led's. Maybe I can get it from his dealership and pay under 105 lmao.

Matt Farah doesn't get a lot of things right. Also, he is very annoying on his podcast. He had Steve Dinan on a few weeks back and kept on interrupting him with a bunch of nonsense just to sound smart, but it came off really poorly and made him look self-indulgent.

First it is no secret that Matt is not a fan of BMW nor does he care for BMW drivers, but he respects the brand and those owners who track their cars.

So I posted a comment on YouTube for the video, and tweeted Drive about two things in the video....one, the obvious blunder of calling the color estoril blue. But also, in regards to the comp pack...the video states it is NOT a CP car, but the car in the video clearly has the black chrome exhaust tips. This is normally a part of the ZCP. So either BMW sent them a non-CP car and randomly changed out the exhaust tips, or they are indeed driving a ZCP car.

You would think at some point he would attempt to be less fat.

So funny to see him review small cars.

You can get the sound removed, I had it done for mine.

I know it's been rehashed, but has anyone found a way to remove the "exhaust through the speakers" Feature? I couldn't see myself owning a car at the 100k mark that has to have the exhaust pumped through the stereo to sound tough. It's just my personal preference, but I couldn't. Is there a fuse that can be pulled? Programming to remove the exhaust audio?

EDIT: The last response answered my question. Thank You!

I see it as a good thing. The F10 M5 still generates enough interest in the review community to be looked at again. I will gladly watch/read any new review of the car. I never fail to enjoy reviewers' reactions to the car's acceleration. I can't think of one review where the driver hasn't been in awe (or laughing out loud) when the power pins him to the seat. I can still hear Carlos Lago saying "This is ridiculous!" during an acceleration run. I think it takes everyone by surprise. It's just too big and handsome to go this fast. To each their own. I really like Brian on CNET. I think he's one of the best and most professional car reviewers out there. The show is called "Car Tech" and as such, it focuses more on car technology than racing characteristics. But since the vast majority of BMW buyers - including M car - will never even think about taking it to a track, his reviews are a little more informative for the average person. He definitely liked the M6 and it is probably the best review out there if you want to get a good look at the car and imagine what it's like to live with it.

What an idiot

Wow and I used to like Farah but WOW what an idiot! The BMW NAV is by far the best and easiest and best structured on the marked!

The M5 has no identity???????? Show me one V8 out there that sounds like a BMW M5!? AMG just has a straight up V8 sound, just as Audi does. Yes the M5 could be a bit louder but for that there are aftermarket exhausts.

And the DCT clunky around town bullshit.... this guy should stop reviewing cars. Terrible, terrible, absolutely TERRIBLE review!
