Check my SS build

I had debated new M3 vs M5 and My order for a 2015 M5 has gone in. I have read thru so many threads regarding options and here is where I stand.
Silverstone
Black full leather. I was going to just go extended but after reading the two recent leather threads I had to get it. I considered SS for the interior but had a light gray leather in my e46 and I don't think it wore well.
Executive, a must.
Drivers assistance. Probably could skip it.
20s. I was 50/50 on this. 19s should give a better ride and someone wrote that they thought the handling was better. Cleaning the 19s and the "small size" pushed me to the 20s.
6ns enhanced usb and Bluetooth. Probably not necessary.
I am still really enjoying my e92 M3, but need 4 doors.
Thanks for reading
E

If cost was no object I would get the CP. I test drove a cp and non cp M5. I'll never track the car so will have to pass. Your fantastic pics pushed me to pull the trigger on the M5. You have the CP wheels but I looked at your car enough to decide on the 20s. Be safe.

Had the CP been less than $5k, I would have went with it. Same with the CCB's.

But since I'll never track this car... and to me it's just a fun daily driver that is practical... I couldn't justify that much expense on a feature I won't get much use out of.

OP - your build is PERFECT to me.

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, but have you guys watched the following video?

We may not track our cars, but when the moment arrives while cruising on the highway etc....... do you really want to second guess the handling of your new M5? Just saying!

Too late for me. Mine has been built already. Not worried about it.

Sometimes I regret not getting the CP though never track my cars and I can't imagine this car stiffer than this as everytime I have a loaner I feel how royal the cushy ride feels but zero fun - and it seems it is a trade off and you can't get both worlds but I believe more balance is with no CP and you are tipping it much more towards tracking when you order CP and the car will be probably more fun to push and aural fun too but as a DD may be less fun at most of the other commute times.

My 2 cents
My next car is CP but for exhauste rather than stiffer ride and 10 mm lower - and for a change.

Also... Would that reviewer from the video have the same views and opinions after daily driving it for 6 months and 10k miles?... In the northeast with nasty roads and city driving...?

The M5 CP in comfort mode is more comfortable than a stock 2012 E70? X5! When my wife raves about her car (all the damn time) I just sit back and smile to myself....

What you built is perfect. If I were you, I would definitely get 20s rims

For a DD I could see the benefit of skipping the CP... Lower cost and higher comfort.
Although I feel 19" wheels would improve comfort and drivability equally.
The only reason I decided on the CP was a slight improvement in steering feel. But this is highly subjective.

Had the CP been under $5k, I would have went for it. Just couldn't justify for $7300.
oh well....'FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS'!!

You are going to love the extra torque and comfort of the M5. Nice move on skipping what you skipped. I feel BMW made a small failure when they offered the standard 20' wheels as forged and the comp wheels as cast. Besides a tune and H&R springs will bridge most of that gap for you.

Bump. Bump. Bump.
I got the call a short time ago, the M5 is in. Hopefully I will be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon, and will post pics. I'll enjoy the drive into work in the AM in the M3. Maybe even hit the M button. It has been a great car and will be missed.
