But I do have a feeling BMW might follow through with this. In no time, we might be reading a comparo between the RS8, S63, and M7

Forget this "M7" and wait for the new "Light weight" M5 in 2016/17.

I like the idea of an M7. If what this is says is correct, the M7 will be slightly lighter than the F10 M5, and offer more space and luxury. Sounds like a winner to me.
Yes next m5 will be lighter still but it won't match the refinement and luxury of an M7.

Although i must admit the style of the new S class given the proper wheel package on it, is a very nice luxury executive car. I used to own a F01 750 and the looks of it can't compare to what you get in a MB or even the Audi. BMW has to step it up in that department.

About time they are making it! BMW needs something to compete with Mercedes's S class AMGs. My father has owned two S class AMGs and they have been nothing short of phenomenal.

i saw a comparison video already of the 760i vs the s63 or s65 and they were pretty close, so i think they already considered that the competition to the S amg.

I would love if they made an M7. Yes it won't be amazing to drive on a track but Merc and Audi have been playing this field for a long time (and done it well) so I see no reason to why BMW shouldn't have a car in this category.

Funny, when comparing the M5 to the M3/M4, the typcial M3/M4 guy ridicules the M5 for its size and the M5 crew justify its superiority based on the level of luxury/amenities compared ot its smaller sibling. Sound familiar at all to the discussion of the M7 by a bunch of M5 guys?
We traded off the agility and nimble handling of the smaller car for the space and luxury of the M5. I am sure there are folks out there who are happy to go even further down that spectrum to an M7. It won;t be a trakc car, but then again is the F10 really the best option for a track car? I think not.

Completely agree. Although I have to say that when I had to make the choice and the F80 was not yet available, I chose the F10 ///M5 over the E90 ///M3 also for its superior power output in bare stock version. Legroom on the back seats isn't that much different.

Running the risk to step on everybody's toes (including mine):
The F10 ///M5 is in fact the ///M7! After all it is my understanding that the F10 shares the same platform with the F01 7-series. That becomes even more apparent if you look at the F18, the absurdly deformed long wheelbase 5-series that BMW created for some far eastern markets.
