Which Downpipes To Purchase?!?!
So I now have 8k miles on my competition package M5 and would like to do some additional mods. My car is stock other MSR intake and cosmetic changes. My next mode is downpipes.
There are so many choices: RPI, Undercover, ER, Evolve, etc. What are the differences between the manufacturers, are they the same size, build quality? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! |

I'm in the same boat. After doing a lot of research I think a lot of it is just preference. If you go with any of the top tier that you mention above they should all be high quality. I'm leaning towards ER or AMS. Reason for AMS is because I love working with iND and they sell them.

Undercover / Fabworks Custom Fabrication for my Beast and A few members here also
@middlyman 6spdterror @1eighty IGor and a few more members I know that are not in this forum. I have Full 3" dp to exhaust. although if you choose this route you will Grind out where the DP come out underneath as the hole is only 2.75" in diameter. so if you are just upgrading to just dp for now and not full exhaust, i would suggest stick with a 3"-2.75 bend so that it will fit onto your stock exhaust. RPI,AMS,AKRA, Meisterschaft and Fabworks are some brands that carry the regular size DP. imo, if you just shopping for dp, Any brand would work as they to me are all the same. |

+1 for Joe@Trinity. You really can't find better service than Trinity Autosport. IND is good too, but I prefer Trinity myself.

So you say you run out of space for inch DP, so what is the solution?

Depends on how much you want to spend, if you go full exhaust + dp + tune (nice) then go for topbrands like Supersprint, ER or AMS.
Now we got some new exhausts in our collection, go look for Friedrich Motorsport - much cheaper, at least for those in Europe! |

Depends whether you gonna run your stock CP exhaust. For me.. I love RPi products so I would probably go RPi route with Joe at Trinity..but as pointed out there are all pretty much the same..

Great thing about GTM downpipes is that it's a straight bolt on that doesn't require any grinding of the firewall for fitment. Last edited by AhmadHasib; 08-30-2015 at 02:02 PM.. |
