2017 Tesla Model S P100D vs. 2017 Audi RS7 Performance - Head 2 Head Ep. 88

I wonder if the next M5 will have a dog in this fight.

Yeah I wouldn't hold your breath on the M5 running a 10.5 like the Tesla and Turbo S lol . It should trap a bit more than the Tesla of course and like the Turbo S destroy it up top.

I saw this last week.... Its just crazy. How many times can you launch that Tesla before the power comes down and the performance deteriorates.

No, they lose power quickly at high rates of speed and acceleration like this. I was at COTA with a Tesla in the same garage. He was only able to get three of five runs in and he had his car on the charger all through lunch. So he made the two morning runs and had to leave after the first run in the PM. He was going to be drained if he didn't get home. Each run is 25 minutes and since his car topped out around 120mph he probably got about 5 laps per run which would be about 16 miles.

I don't know brother. The new F90 M5 is supposedly coming in at a weight of only 4,178lbs. Compare that to >4,900lbs on the P100D. The RS7 is about 4,500lbs, while the new E63S AMG is around the same. With the next M5 getting more power too, I think it could be an interested fight!

I bet the M5 will weight more than 4178 pounds fully equipped. I believe it will only be marginally lighter than the F10 version. Though that's a success in itself as both the Benz and Pam weighted more than the previous version.

As for acceleration, it's already clear the Pam Turbo is the slowest of the lot.

It ran with a .2 Turbo S which has run 10.5 @130 +.many many times in European tests as well . The time and speed was accurate but most likely a ringer lol .
