I don't understand the hate for the new M3/4...what's wrong with it? I test drove a few and loved it better than my V8 E92 M3...

Well over 3,000 horsepower, enough to pull a train.

Solid read & I do agree with some of the sentiments here that there's no need to knock on the M3/M4

On the fence between M5 and S7 for my next DD. Love the styling and hatch of the Audi (have a baby and a small dog), but this is really steering me towards the M.

Great writing! This is why EVO is the only publication that gets my subscription money. The reading experience is so much more gratifying than the American-based mags that dwell too much on the numbers side of things.

Many reviews love it. My father has an F10 M5. I just got a 6mt F80.

The F10 is nice, its fast, but its HUGE. It's not nearly as fun to drive. Maybe when I get older

Actually no hate at all. Just having fun with the trolls.
I just finished a track weekend and there were several new M3/M4s at the track. I really like the look of the M3s over the M4s. But they sound dreadful, not that the M5s take any trophies home for sound either but I have made mine tolerable.

I love my F80 I would love to own an F10 M5 if I could afford both. The f10 is a tad large but still amazing. Other than the size, I would have considered an F10 M5 more if the 6mt in it was better but kept hearing how bad it was and it's a vehicle that suits the DCT more than the 6MT

Sensationalism to sell more. Every writer pulls crap like this to stir the pot.

M5 is not inherently better than the M3, or vice-versa. They are different cars with different purposes.

What is the logic when picking these cars? Firstly 30J is a limited model, that is sold out. Second, the exact competitors to the model lines of panamera and audi a7 are the 6GC and CLS. Or the other way around, bring in the RS6 then and compare it to the Eclass. Also the panamera GTS is seriously underpowered, why not bring a turbo (s) to be fair?

They're far from being sensational and it's not like they're calling the M3/M4 Satan's spawn. The staff has routinely expressed their lack of *love* for the car and they have a long termer to boot.

I also say they are more stable (but scary) than M3/M4, specially when you floor the gas in MDM or DSC OFF mode
"Scary" yet rightfully so -
I agree with the article. The latest generation M3/M4 are a huge disappointment for enthusiasts IMO. So for people like me I can only wait for the M2 and hope BMW does not make the same mistake again,

...seriously? I am an enthusiast and it was a huge success in my eyes. You drive an e90 so lets compare shall we? F80 looks light years better than the E90 inside and out (subjective, but them flared fender I have never get old). Better tech in the F80 is a given. The E9X seats we're a mistake, ugly, too high up, and not as sporty as any other gen M3 (it's missing the fixed headrest!). F80 revs very high for a turbo car, only 800 rpm difference compared to yours. More HP, lots more torque, faster, solid low end grunt, better mid range, carbon fiber roof for the sedan, lighter, better suspension, way better MPG, brembo brakes vs them crusty/ugly/horrid sliding calipers, much nicer 6MT. Out of all the M3's the hydraulic steering racks the e90s was the worst, and the e9x is the heaviest pig. The one category I'll give the e9x is sound of course but that's not big a deal to me anyways. I have a smile every time I drive her. I'm sure you love you e90 too but sorry I had to say something. **flame suit on**

Love the M5, even without the competition package. One of the sexiest sport sedans around.

Loving my car more and more...

Now BMW can make sure this formula is used for every M first time out of the plant?
