Can discount be had for the 2012 M5s on dealer's lot?
there are a couple 2012 M5s sitting in our local dealer's lot and they have been there fore months now. I suspect many will be interested in M model in our town. That said, the last M car they sold (they could have sold a couple Ms on customer's order too) was a 2011 M3 which they had to give huge discount to move during this summer. Now, I wonder, if they will try to deal with the M5s they have. Usually, they don't discount first year model especially any M cars. The asking price are both $115k (canadian, full load, no night vision, no rear entertainment)
what do you guys think?

I think they'll entertain offers below MSRP. With 2013 models out they need to move the '12s. Name your price and if they say no, leave your phone number and walk out - you likely get a call within 24 hours.

So I just went visit the dealer and found out these are the only 2 M5s for 2012 they have left. (they never had too many, guess they sold in total 1 2012 M5 only). Test drove the car and I have to say it is quite stunning of what the car can do. They both are missing full leather which I think would make the car look and feel more like a $100k car. No night Vision, no rear entertaining system, which both are neither important anyway. Both car comes with 20" wheels which they said is standard for Canadian market. One thing I noticed on the price list was that there is a FEES/CHARES ( freight & PDI, doc fee, adm fee, wheel lock, air tax) of $3995. I just think that's ridiculous and stupid. IMO, don't ever list something like wheel lock on the charge list when you are selling a $100k car. My first $20k Acura came with free wheel lock, so did my other 10 cars in the past.

Hi py0413,
Are you in Victoria by any chance? Very interested in how your search turns out as I have my eye on the Singapore grey one they've got...... And am wondering as well about discounts, and the ridiculous "Prep fees" charged. Cheers, Erik |

You got a PM. They said they are willing to deal with the 12' models because the 13' are arrived already. Vancouver dealers already have them in their lots. Says discounts are available for those 12' model but we haven't gone that far.
