What wheels to order
I'm about to order a new M5. I'm dead set on ordering Frozen bronze with black interior and anthracite trim, exectutive, driver's assistance, lighting, competition and B&O sound. as far as wheels go the dealer showed me the ordering guide and for 2014 it seems all the wheels are 9.5" and 10.5" widths. i know the 601's are cast and the 343's forged. can anyone that's actually taken delivery confirm the 601's and 343 on 2014's are indeed 9.5" and 10.5". i've read somewhere that the 343's are 9 and 10 inches and the 601's are 0.5" wider and other places say they are all 9 and 10, and the ordering guide says they're all 9.5 and 10.5 at least for 2014 models. so which wheels should i order, it's either the 601m or black 343m's so what's everyone think?

Personally think the 343s look dated on the M5, Id vote for the 601ms. I also dont like black wheels on the M5, but thats just me.

Think you should get the 343Ms in Liquid Black. They are BBS Forged which is much better than the other wheels. They also look better.

Watch out for dealerships powder coating cold forged wheels into black. Depending on the metallurgy of the wheel that may weaken the wheel.
Also, anyone have any suggestions / experience on stickier rubber for the rear that isn't horrible in the rain? I'm not used to traction control kicking in at 30mph - I've almost always exclusively driven 4wd cars in the 500+ HP range haha.

Just gloss. If you want matte you would need to do it yourself.

2. You bought the wrong car 3. The M5 is perfect 4. Repeat. Just kidding of course; did you have a chance to scroll through my thread on "560HP with RWD?". Very entertaining. |
