DCT fluid - Nightmare

I want to change the oil in my DCT, due to others saying its DEFINITELY not life time oil, and the people complained of their gearboxes getting gunked up inside..

But im getting conflicting info, ECS recommend you should replace it for DCTF-1 (Pentosin FFL-4), but BMW dealer just told me that's for older 2008 year M3's etc, and the one for the M5 F10 is the DCTF- + 1 which is nearly 3 times more expensive, but he couldn't tell me why.

There all made by Pentosin - the one i like look of is the one highly recommend for GTR's Pentosin FFL - racing

Does anyone have any knowledge on this to help a brother out

Link to ECS oil service kit which seems to be incorrect advise is here: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...3220440214kt1/

I wish, my local dealer wants $75 per bottle for this new +1 shit, this is why im trying to discover what +1 is... UPDATE my local dealer says Pentosin FFL4 is not to be used in M5's now, and is an older technology fluid WTF, some say the fluid can play a part in when the clutches actually start to slip. They put the uprated DCTF +1 into 2015+ cars, my car at 820 HP @ crank and not slipping so now even more worried about changing oil to something inferior.

But i'll need at least 7 bottles as fitting a slightly larger sump too, so could end up over $525 just in oil if i used BMW parts

You can buy some high-end fluid from Kris at SSP.

BMW saying not to put Pentosin FFL4 in cars after 2015, the new BMW DCTF +1 oil is $98 per bottle on ECS !!!! But i dont know what the equivalent non-branded BMW oil is.

Im sure this will interest someone, looks like they fitted an updated version of the Getrag gearbox to my 2016 MY

M5's from (2012-2015) they fitted the Getrag GS7D36BG
M5 from late 2015 > they fitted Getrag GS7D36SG

Wonder what the difference is, and why they recommend different oil for both??

Per BMW parts dept there is only one oil part number they use on the F10 M5 DCT in their system... its BMW 83222446673 (BMW DCTF 1+) @34$/quart....

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=28_0009

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=83222446673

The main question is has anyone used any alternative DCT oils with success pushing 700whp+ ?

Anyone recommend the DCT trans magnetic drain plug? I believe there is already a magnet builtin to the unit?

Here's what i got back from the dealer;

"83222446673 is not available – under the part status on BMW Dealerspeed (it will state ‘Cannot Be Ordered’). This fluid cannot be ordered from BMW – they actually cancelled our order for it when we tried to order it for you.

The 83220440214 is correct.

The OP in forum thread is located in Europe so I’m assuming the car is European-spec. I’m thinking the 83222446673 is probably exclusively for use in Europe on Euro-spec vehicles because it cannot be ordered from BMW here in the US."

I think I would just follow the right fluid fill PN and even have the dealer do it. $500 vs price of a new DCT I'd think is nothing for long term maintenance.

dont understand, it says lifetime. if you guys think you're smarter than bmw, carry on.

it says lifetime, how long do you plan on keeping this car in order for your magic fluid to actually "work" or prolong life? jesus. leave it alone

When you change your DCT clutch you must change the fluid

In Europe you want to get the BMW DCTF+1 part#83222446673 (or what company makes this?....is this Febi 39070 ? )...we cannot source this in USA??

http://www.ebay.de/itm/ORIGINAL-BMW-...-/182739312824

looks like the same bottle design?

BMW DCTF-1 part#83220440214 (Pentosin) is correct in USA
