ETHANOL fuel mix ????

My local fuel stop offers 99 RON at the pump (which is same as your 95 in the US), and im told they reach this figure by using a light mix of approx 3% to 5% Ethanol... May seem a silly question but if i add a few liters of pure Ethanol myself in with each tank to get it to around 10% - i'd surely be making some extra ponies right?

Or will the car explode and world stop spinning? everyone is taking about playing safe and adding extra octane to reduce the chances of rods bending, and im doing my bit by already running 100% meth kit, but fancied chucking in a few small bottles of Ethanol with each tank to meet the horizon a bit faster.

any thoughts, or anyone tried a bit more Ethanol in there tank?

I don't think you will gain over running Methanol but try it and log with JB4... depends how much head room the OEM fuel system has, keep an eye on fuel trims.

Ethanol has a lower calarific value to petroleum spirit so you need more volume of fuel, thats why people running ethanol get such bad gas mileage.
