2014 M5 Please advise on the proposed deal

Please advise on lease. I am looking at a 2014 M5 Sakhir Orange , Manual, with Driver Assistance Plus, Executive Package, and Competition Package. I see lots of good threads of members helping other members out so I would truly appreciate any assistance on shooting for the best price I can on this car. Below I have listed the 2 options proposed to me by the dealer in VA. This vehicle has been on their lots for months now.

MSRP: $107,825. 12k miles/ year 36 months.

1st Option:
Negotiated Price $99,847
Money Factor: .00130
Residual: .60 for 12k miles/year
MD Taxes: $6190.56
Tags: $317
Monthly: $1421

2nd Option 7 MSD (Multiple Security Deposits)
Negotiated Price $99,847
MSDs: $9100 (1300x7)
Money Factor: .00081
Residual: .60 for 12k miles/year
MD Taxes: $6190.56
Tags: $317
Monthly: $1283.03

U should be getting better deal since its on the lot. I ordered my car and this is what i got

10k/36m
Msrp $120,440
7 msd ($9,000)
$3,000 down
$1,250 including bmw wheel and tire insurance.

You should be around $1,000 - $1,100 a month with no cap reduction just tax and dmv fees upfront

Thanks so much for the quick response. Are you telling me you are paying $1000-$1100? or that I should be there? I am trying to figure out how to get this dealer to come down on the price. I ordered a 2014 550 IX pretty much loaded and with 7 MSDs, I am @ 963 and it will arrive at the dealer on Monday. But I really want the M5 So that is probably too much as well.

Sal is right, you should be approximately $1100 per month with no money down with your msd option.

I truly appreciate your responses, this is very helpful. So basically tell the dealer I want to be @ $1100?

yes and option #2 is the better option to get there with the MSD’s (imo) as you really want to be in the $1,100 range at that sale price and residual - the car is sitting on the lot, but you are going to have to push them to get there.

i was looking for the thread with the MF with max MSD's as I am not sure if that’s right for May - hopefully someone has it at their fingertips or you can do a little more research for it. also, not sure what's in your taxes - seems to be really high - i thought MD sales tax was at 6%? and $1,000 in GG...not sure what else is in there – destination? T&W?

you're essentially looking for the dealer to shave about $6,600 over the life of the lease to get to $1,100ish. looks like they did a decent job on the sales price vs MSRP. did they already take the $1,500 incentive off the MSRP?

Are you leasing this car? if yes why are you paying full tax?
In California we just pay the tax for amount of monthly lease.
For First option:
So basically what you have to pay is 35K (Sales price - Residual) + 36* rent fee (MF* (Sales price + residual)) = 42800 * 1.06 (if tax is %6 in MD) =45368. your monthly payment is $1260. tag and license fee upfront.
BTW this is based on 0.0013 MF; however you have to negotiate to lower MF

Edit: I was told that MD is the state requires full tax.
So the calculation will be changed. The total amount is now 49K and monthly payment is $1360

Maryland is one of the few states that you have to pay the full tax up front. I was told by a dealer to lease in VA so I could pay less taxes when I lease my car in the fall.

Just be careful. If you do that, they will deliver the car registered in VA and you will need to have a VA address for the insurance. I know someone who got burned that way.

I own a house in VA so all my cars are registered there. Since I don't live in VA I don't have to pay all the fees and county taxes.....

It's a lease. I would think the dealer would want to offload it since it has been there for a while. My other issue is my 550 has arrived and I am sure the other dealer will be calling to inform me it's ready for pickup. I am willing to do $9100 MSD and that's it, but I would love to me @ 1100 or lower. The 550ix lease with 7K in MSD is $963/month on a 3yr/36.

Drtjxtz,
Can you pm me the name of the dealer (assuming it's around NYC)?
I have a friend looking to get a car and this will save a lot of effort.

+ if you want the best deals from cars that are physically at the dealership, start shopping a day or 2 before the end of the month. GMs will bend over backwards to get rid of cars!

I know this wasn't directed to me, but I've found that it depends on the dealership, especially around NYC. Some dealers are oblivious. When you come to them with these kind of numbers they are incredulous. I agree wait till end of month but it helps to start with a dealer that is in tune with the deals going on.

Totally agree it depends on the dealership. But the wonderful thing about shopping for a BMW is dealerships are all over the place.

A couple years ago I was shopping for a new E92 M3 so I went to Casey BMW in Newport News VA. I was ready to buy the car when the sales manager insisted on me giving them my trade-in as soon as I signed the paper-work, although the M3 would take a couple of months to arrive at the dealership. He even offered a loaner, but I refused (hate loaners, no window tint etc). I was pissed! I think I told him to go fuck himself, can't remember . So I went to Georgia and I got exactly what I wanted.
