High mileage 2013

Would you guys feel comfortable buying a 2013 that had 75000 miles on the clock and carfax clean, service papers, very clean car. Paint and interior not showin much wear at all. If price is right would you think the engine will double its age? 75000 over about 3 years has to be all highway.

Even with CPO, you only will get 25k of warranty coverage. So, it would be a no.

I cannot speak about the durability of the F10, but I owned a E46 M3, and it had 250,000 miles on it when I turned it in. It was still a fantastic car when I turned it in. The M cars are built well. Hope that helps.

I have a CPO warranty and this is the first I've heard of this. I did some research and could not substantiate that claim. Do you have reference for the 25k cap?

Is that per incident or total?

If its the right price I would personally even tho I do all the work myself, the S63's are proofing themselves fairly reliable cars especially comparing to the E60! Just make sure the car is in pristine condition and nothing hidden!

He meant 25k miles left. Car has 75k now, 100k is the limit of the warranty.

Ran through maintenance history thoroughly...every service visit checked out.
Only unscheduled replacement was a 10 year warranty part (in the books and can be transferred as per BMW) for the pressure switch module for leak (DMTL I believe). Spark plugs last replaced 6/14 @ 22,650; recall for the heat protection mats done 3/15; oil changed 6x; differential oil changed, brake fluid changed once--Car bought out of CA. Was a San Jose commuter car, owner lived near Sacramento I believe. Its now in NY for sale. I am having PPI done. Car looks and smells new. Not even much in the rock chip or road rash category to be buffed out. 8/15 pads replaced. Was told by a mechanic that suspension and shocks should be fine based on high mileage Highway driving.

Need to see how much a powertrain warranty is. BMW OEM will not warrnaty a car outside of 4/50K. They will try to sell you a third party plan.

The OP mentioned a 75k mile car. The cap for CPO warranty is an additional two years or up to 100k (total mileage), whichever comes first, on top of the factory warranty.

Oh, I see this has been clarified already by another member. Reading fail on my part. LOL.

+1. Try to inspect the car in good lightning and at different angles for defects, scratches and chips in the paint, including the door jambs, under the hood, trunk, etc.

Careful on looking at the past service record as an indication of health. I purchased my 2014 CP at the end of Sept. I drove it home 700 miles and the next day the rod blew through the engine; BMW had to put in a new engine. I picked this car over another based on a perfect vehicle record. It's great now, but shit can always happen.

I am also currently looking at a high mileage m5 as well with warranty (maint and powertrain). I have been reading mixed reviews on the car about reliability past 100k. Wanted to see if there is anyone here that has experience with a 13 M5 over 100k and how it performs. I was originally looking at 30-40k miles but came across this car that seems like a good deal but I don't want to shaft myself in the long run. I am planning to keep this car for 5-7 years.

Also Does anybody know if you can warranty a car past 100k? If so then I will be less scared to own the car past 100k
